Seized GU uPVC Door Mechanism Replaced in Northfield, Birmingham
We attended a property in Northfield, Birmingham after a customer became locked inside and was unable to open their uPVC door.
The old GU multipoint locking mechanism had completely seized, leaving the locking points secured inside the door frame. The mechanism was extremely old, worn and faulty, so it could no longer operate correctly using the handle or key.
We carefully opened the jammed uPVC door, removed the failed GU mechanism and fitted a suitable replacement multipoint locking system. We also carried out the necessary door adjustments and tested everything thoroughly to ensure the door opened, closed and locked smoothly again.
Warning signs of a failing uPVC door mechanism can include:
• A stiff or dropping door handle
• Difficulty lifting the handle
• A key that is hard to turn
• Grinding or clicking sounds
• A door that will not lock or unlock
Ignoring these symptoms can eventually cause the mechanism to seize completely, potentially leaving you locked inside or locked out of your property.
We provide professional uPVC door mechanism replacements, GU multipoint lock repairs, gearbox replacements and emergency door opening throughout Northfield, Birmingham and the West Midlands.
