“I looked forward to coming back every day because I was enjoying the course so much.”

For Abdullah Butt, a Buckinghamshire resident who trained with us in Iver, our Dumper Driver course provided the skills, confidence and support to start a career in construction.

"The instructors were knowledgeable, supportive and always happy to help. By the end of the course, I felt confident in my ability and ready to start working on site."
The support didn't stop when the training ended. Abdullah was helped through the process of moving from the course into employment with Flannery.

"They made it really easy to move from completing the course into getting a job with the company, and I really appreciated how helpful and approachable everyone was."

Now working in the industry and looking to gain further plant qualifications, Abdullah is focused on continuing to grow his career. He's also encouraged by the increasing number of women entering construction, having seen first-hand through his sisters the positive impact women are making across the sector.
We're proud to have been part of Abdullah's journey and look forward to seeing where his career takes him next.

"The trainers were amazing and taught in ways that really helped me learn. They gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and into a completely new industry."

For Charlotte Gibson, our Tractor course in Iver wasn't just about gaining a qualification. It gave her the skills, confidence and support to make the move from customer service and management into construction.

After years in the corporate world, Charlotte decided to take a chance on something different. She gained her qualification, built her confidence, and quickly transitioned into her first role on site.

"Passing my theory and practical was such an emotional moment, and I was genuinely sad when the course ended!"

Today, Charlotte is doing a job she loves and earning almost double what she earned as a manager.

"I hope I inspire other women to just do it. Construction may be seen as a man's world, but there's no reason why we can't thrive in it too."

If Charlotte's story has inspired you, this is your chance to take the first step towards a new career with one of our funded Buckinghamshire construction courses.
