SOUND ADVICE ON TACKLING THE PROBLEM OF OVERHEATING IN HOMES
Richard Soper, CEO of Unico System in the UK, was a member of the Question Time Expert Panel that fielded a range of highly topical questions on the subject of Overheating in Homes. The event was held at The National Self Build & Renovation Centre & Renovation Centre Swindon and was part of the Create Your Perfect Home Show, 9-10 October 2026.
Richard joined experts in the fields of MVHR, insulation and building shading who together underlined the importance of an integrated strategy to address the issue of overheating - a real "hot topic" in the blazing summer of 2026.
"Comfort in the home is the number one priority, " said Richard, " And that means looking ourselves, our pets and our property with measures that manage temperature, humidity and even noise levels." There was a steady stream of home renovators, alongside the new home builders, to the company's new exhibition space which is excellently located in the prominent Piazza area at the NSBRC. "Overheating is not just an issue facing new homes and we can provide solutions for properties of all types and ages. The key is to get us involved right at the outset of any project," added Richard.
