Smoke should not come out of 2 chimney pots 🤦🏼‍♂️
This highlights the importance of completing a smoke test after chimney sweeping!

Finishing a busy week today with a variety of stove repairs, fire brick renewals and rope replacements.

Quite a common repair we do is to replace the Chesneys seized door lock. A bit of effort to work it free, but we got there in the end! A tip from us, WD40 isn’t a suitable lubricant for these. A high temperature graphite based lubricant is recommended 👌🏻

Both having new fire brick sets, the Series 8 needing baffles and grates and the Series 4 needing a new door rope and outlet pipe reseal.

A simple but effective repair from today.
Dust and insulation kept dropping from the chimney onto this stove, leaving it always looking dirty.
We installed a stainless debris collar with a suitable fire rope sealing to make the fireplace look finished and keep the insulation and dust where it should be 🔥
