A big thank you to everyone who joined us at the United Kingdom Testing and Certification for our latest Fire Safety in Focus Scotland event.
It was a great day for bringing people from across the sector together to share knowledge, ask questions and talk openly about some of the issues affecting fire safety and the built environment in Scotland.
The highlight was the opportunity to witness a live fire-door burn test first-hand. Itβs not something many people get the chance to see, and it added real context to the discussions around passive fire protection and fire doors. Daniel Fitzsimmons was excellent at talking everyone through what was happening as the test progressed and explaining what we were seeing.
Alongside the live test, we covered:
β’ Single Building Assessments
β’ Passive fire protection and fire doors
β’ A Health & Safety legal update from Addleshaw Goddard
β’ Practical discussion around the challenges organisations are facing
Thank you to Marc Cork, Abby Housego, Keith Plowman, Vivien Welsh and Katie MacColl for sharing their expertise and contributing to the day.
A huge thank you as well to Andrew McGhee and Daniel Fitzsimmons from UKTC for hosting us, and to Addleshaw Goddard and the SPA (Scottish Procurement Alliance) Procurement Alliance for working with us to make the event happen.
The aim was simple: bring the right people together, share expertise and give attendees practical insight they could take back into their own organisations.
Judging by the questions and conversations throughout the day, thereβs clearly an appetite to keep these discussions going.
Thanks again to everyone who joined us.
