Hi, my name is Danny, and I’m the owner of DL Roofing & Property Maintenance.

This is a roof replacement project we recently completed for a customer in Burgess Hill.

During our initial inspection, we found porous roof tiles and underfelt that was no longer providing adequate protection. If left untreated, problems like these can allow water into your home, causing damp, timber damage and costly repairs—particularly during the colder, wetter months.

We removed the existing roof covering and installed new roofing felt, battens and tiles. We also installed a dry verge and dry ridge system, which provides a secure, weather-resistant finish and helps prevent tiles from becoming loose in strong winds. These improvements give the property reliable protection against the elements, improved long-term durability and a clean, refreshed appearance.

It was a pleasure completing this work for our customer, and we would like to thank her for trusting us with her home.

🏠 60m² Flat Roof Replacement – Completed 🏠

Another flat roofing project successfully completed by DL Roofing & Property Maintenance.

This 60m² flat roof had suffered from years of repeated repairs, with up to six layers of torch-on felt laid one on top of another. Eventually, the roof began to fail, resulting in water ingress and leaks around the old roof windows/skylights.

Following our inspection, it was clear that the existing roof covering had reached the end of its serviceable life and a full replacement was the best long-term solution.

Works carried out included:

* Complete removal of up to six layers of existing torch-on felt
* Removal of the old roof decking
* Installation of new, high-quality OSB3 roof decking
* Installation of a premium three-layer torch-on felt roofing system
* Removal of the old, deteriorated roof windows
* Installation of brand-new skylight windows
* All detailing and finishing completed to leave the roof fully weatherproof, neat and professionally finished

The customer now has a completely renewed flat roofing system, providing a durable and reliable solution for years to come.

Another Roof Leak Successfully Resolved in Crawley ✅

We were recently called out to investigate a persistent roof leak at a property in Crawley.

Following a thorough inspection, we identified that the breathable membrane (roofing felt) had been installed incorrectly. Instead of directing rainwater into the guttering, the membrane had folded back on itself, causing water to collect and sit on the felt before eventually overflowing and finding its way into the property.

To permanently resolve the issue, we:

✔ Carefully removed the bottom three courses of roof tiles.
✔ Repositioned the breathable membrane to the correct location, ensuring it discharged properly onto the eaves support and into the gutter.
✔ Relayed all roof tiles, leaving the roof correctly installed and allowing rainwater to drain away as intended.

During the repair, we also carried out remedial work to the step lead flashing along the adjoining wall.

The existing pointing had deteriorated, allowing water to track behind the lead flashing and into the roof structure. To rectify this, we:

✔ Ground out the failed pointing.
✔ Re-secured the lead flashing using lead wedges.
✔ Finished the flashing with Lead Mate, a high-performance lead sealant that provides a flexible, weatherproof finish while allowing for the natural expansion and contraction of the lead, helping to ensure a long-lasting repair.

The property is now fully watertight, and both issues have been repaired to a professional standard.
