A clear locksmith quote should leave you knowing what you’re saying yes to.
These are the four headings worth checking:
* Attendance — any charge for the visit or assessment, including if you don’t proceed.
* Labour — the work included, or how time is charged.
* Parts — which replacements are covered.
* Possible extras — what falls outside the stated price.
These aren’t necessarily four separate charges. The important thing is knowing what the total covers, including VAT where applicable.
A fixed quote covers specified work at an agreed price. An estimate is approximate. If a fault needs assessment first, the cost of that stage should be clear before it begins.
Before agreeing to the work, check what the quoted amount includes and how any additional work would be agreed.
