Ants in February?
We had an unusual call out for ants this week. Ant activity is common in Spring and Summer but pretty unusual in the middle of winter. These were not your typical black garden ants, these were tropical Pharaoh's ants. Although usually found in warmer climates these ants thrive in heated buildings. They are also pretty difficult to control as the insecticide sprays and powders commonly used to control garden ants may actually cause Pharaoh's ants to spread.
