Our annual ALO Training Day brought colleagues from across the country together in Lincolnshire, with sessions covering everything from the importance of drainage through to seeing it in action on agricultural land.

In the video, Hannah Goffe, now Senior Consents Officer at Dalcour Maclaren, shares more about the day. Having originally joined DM as an Agricultural Liaison Officer herself, Hannah also knows first-hand how the role can develop into wider career opportunities.

A big thank you to Dyson Farming and Lincolnshire Drainage for sharing their expertise with the team and helping bring the practical side of the training to life.

The day gave the team the chance to learn from expert speakers, share knowledge and build the practical understanding that helps our ALOs support landowners and deliver for clients.

As our ALO team continues to grow, days like this are an important part of developing skills, bringing colleagues together and strengthening the service we provide across projects.

The 2026–27 Bloxham Sustainability Challenge officially launched at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), bringing together students, educators and industry professionals to kick off another year of hands-on learning.

This year's Challenge will see Year 12 students take on a live brief connected to East West Rail and the proposed Universal UK resort in Bedfordshire, using GIS and spatial analysis to explore how future transport can be delivered sustainably.

As an industry partner, DM will support participating schools with GIS mentors, giving students access to professional expertise as they develop their ideas and experience what it's like to tackle the kinds of complex challenges faced across infrastructure every day.

It's about more than the final solution. The Challenge gives young people the opportunity to develop practical geospatial, analytical and professional skills while discovering where a future career in infrastructure could take them.

A great start to the 2026–27 Challenge. We look forward to seeing where the students take it.

Congratulations to Henry Freeth, Higher Apprentice of the Year at the ITP Telecoms Awards 2026!

A fantastic evening celebrating the people and achievements shaping the telecommunications industry, with a particularly special result for Dalcour Maclaren.

Henry was named Higher Apprentice of the Year, recognising his hard work, dedication and progress in developing his career.~

Nick Summers, who attended the awards, commented:
“A great night, and I am so delighted for Henry. Well deserved and such a brilliant recognition for all his hard work.”

We also want to congratulate Emma Artley on being shortlisted for Telecoms Surveyor of the Year. An amazing achievement and recognition of her contribution to the sector.

Developing the next generation of surveying talent takes more than experience on the job.

Our Land & Property Graduate Training Days are designed to give our graduates and apprentices access to the knowledge, expertise and support that will help them develop throughout their careers.

For our Autumn Graduate Training Day, we’re welcoming Alison Adams from RICS, who will be sharing insight into RICS membership, the support and resources available to candidates, opportunities for networking and engagement, and the role of AI as the profession continues to evolve.

Alongside external expertise, our own experienced team plays an important role in supporting the next generation of surveyors.

Jonathan Smith said:
“The DM L&P Autumn Graduate Training Day is always an important date in the calendar for me. Delivering training to such a large cohort of graduates and apprentices is very satisfying, knowing that you will be playing a part in building the future of the delivery of land rights to such an important industry.”

Dave Warner added:

Six weeks in. So, what does Archaeology & Built Heritage bring to Dalcour Maclaren’s clients?

Since joining DM to lead our Archaeology & Built Heritage team, Andy Towle has been getting to know our clients, working with colleagues across the business and supporting projects across the water and renewable energy sectors.

For many infrastructure projects, heritage constraints are an important consideration. Our approach is focused on understanding those constraints, managing risk and working with clients to establish what really needs to be done for their individual project.

With significant experience across the team, we’re continuing to strengthen how Archaeology & Built Heritage integrates with DM’s wider multidisciplinary offering.
