🌿 PROJECT UPDATE 🌿

Most pond projects begin with a digger digging a hole.

This one started with us filling one in.

After taking over the project, we felt the original layout wasn’t making the most of this incredible woodland setting. So before we could build the new ecosystem pond, we first had to remove and reshape what was already there.

Over the last week we’ve been carefully sculpting the new pond basin, reshaping the stream, and creating a natural flow through the landscape. At the moment it might just look like mud, but every contour and level has been designed with a purpose.

The goal is simple:

💧 A natural ecosystem pond
💧 A winding woodland stream
💧 A feature that looks as though it has always belonged here

This is one of those projects where the real magic happens long before the rocks, waterfalls and planting arrive.

We’re excited to share the journey with you as this hidden woodland space begins its transformation.

Stay tuned… the best part is still to come.

Another ecosystem pond completed 🌿💧

We’ve just finished this 4m x 4m ecosystem pond in Henley-on-Thames, transforming an empty area of garden into a living, breathing ecosystem designed to be enjoyed for years to come.

This build features natural stone edging, a meandering stream, aquatic planting and all the biological filtration needed to create a healthy environment for both wildlife and fish.

The water is still a little cloudy in these photos, which is completely normal for a newly completed pond. Over the coming weeks the beneficial bacteria will establish, the planting will begin to grow and the ecosystem will naturally find its balance.

One of the things we love most about ecosystem ponds is that they don’t just look better with time… they actually become better with time.

We can’t wait to return and see how this one develops. 🌿

We’ve just completed this small ecosystem pond makeover in Ducklington and the transformation has had a huge impact 🌿💧

The existing pond had lost a lot of its natural feel and functionality, so we stripped things back and rebuilt the space with a stronger focus on ecology, movement and planting.

The result is a far more natural-looking water feature with improved circulation, fresh planting and a much healthier environment for the resident goldfish 🐟

We even managed to squeeze in a proper BBQ lunch on site using produce from a brilliant local farm shop 🔥

Projects like this are a great reminder that you don’t need a huge garden to create something really special.

We genuinely love what we do.

One year on from completing this pond… and honestly, it’s been one of the most challenging projects we’ve ever built 💧🌿

Over the past year we’ve battled blanket w**d, settlement issues, leaks, and even moles tunnelling around the liner. At times it genuinely felt like the ecosystem was fighting us every step of the way.

But this is the reality of natural ponds and swim ponds — they evolve over time. Ecosystems mature, planting establishes, biology stabilises, and eventually things begin to balance naturally.

Yesterday I returned to the pond and was completely blown away.

Crystal clear water.
Thriving wildlife.
Beautiful mature planting.
And finally the sense that the pond has settled into the landscape exactly as we always imagined it would.

A real challenge… but absolutely worth it. 🌿

On Friday 15th we had the privilege of attending the unveiling of this very special memorial garden at Bicester Fire Station. ❤️🚒

This was far more than just a landscaping project.

The firefighters themselves created the majority of the space with support from local landscapers, incorporating genuine fire hose, retired ladders, extinguisher planters and other meaningful pieces of equipment throughout the garden. Every detail carries a story.

We were honoured to contribute the waterfall and hydrant water feature to help bring movement, reflection and tranquillity into the space.

It’s difficult to put into words how much this project means to us. Without question, one of the most meaningful projects we’ve ever had the privilege of being involved in.

A huge thank you to Chris and everyone at Bicester and the surrounding stations for allowing us to play a small part in something so important. 👏🌿

We’ve now completed the natural stream restoration project in Wallingford 💧🌿

What began as an overgrown and struggling watercourse has been carefully reshaped and restored into a naturalistic stream designed to feel as though it has always belonged within the landscape.

The project included clearing back years of overgrowth, improving the flow of the stream, setting new stonework, and introducing fresh planting to soften and naturalise the space.

It’s been incredibly rewarding to see this transformation come together, and we’re really pleased with how naturally the finished stream now sits within the garden.

Progress continues on the natural stream renovation in Wallingford 💧🌿

After clearing back the heavily overgrown planting and reshaping the channel, we’ve now started setting the first stones and introducing new planting supplied by Lincolnshire Pond Plants.

The goal with this project is to create a stream that feels natural within the landscape while improving flow, structure and biodiversity throughout the garden.

It’s still early stages, but the transformation is already beginning to take shape nicely.

A proud moment today seeing Sam complete his first solo build 💧🌿

There are still a few finishing touches to complete tomorrow, but I’m genuinely really impressed with how this feature has come together so far.

It’s great to see the progression in both confidence and ability from project to project, and this is a big step forward. Looking forward to sharing the finished result once the final details are complete. 👏

We’ve started work on a new natural stream project for clients in Wallingford.

Today focused on the initial strip-out, clearing back heavily overgrown planting — predominantly iris — to reset the area and prepare for a properly functioning stream system.

It’s slow, careful work at this stage, but already beginning to take shape. We’re looking forward to bringing this one to life over the coming days. 💧🌿

A slightly different way to show this transformation…

Before building the Solihull swimming pond, I couldn’t resist a quick “Jonny Knoxville” moment — jumping into what was, at the time, just an empty hole.

Fast forward, and that same space is now a fully finished natural swimming pond, designed to feel part of the landscape and function as a balanced ecosystem. 💧🌿

Not our usual approach… but a fun way to show the journey from start to finish.
