After a busy summer, your lawn may be showing signs of wear. 🌱

Foot traffic, heat, and a lack of water can all result in bare patches appearing. Not only are these unsightly, but they can also provide space for pesky weeds to grow, and we don’t want any of those! ❌

If you’re looking to help your lawn bounce back from the demands of summer, overseeding could be just what you need. This service will fill in any bare patches, boost thickness and restore healthy growth. 💚

Vibrant green lawns like this one require year-round care to make sure they’re receiving the right treatment at the right time. In autumn, these are the things your lawn needs most to be prepared for the winter ahead:

𝐀𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - Reduces compaction and improves airflow ✅

𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 - Helps air, water and nutrients to get down to the roots✅

𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠- Thickens grass and fills in any bare patches✅

𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐫 - Provides nutrients your lawn needs; our slow-release formula supports steady, healthy growth ✅

𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 - It’s important to continue mowing throughout the year, as long as it isn’t frozen or wet ✅

Combined, all of these work together to address challenges your lawn faces at this time of year and bounce back stronger. 💚

You may notice more birds in your garden at this time of year, as they search for snacks to build up their fat reserves ahead of winter! 🐦

If you do have bird feeders in your garden, here are some useful tips to help keep them safe for any feathered friends:

• Clean feeders and baths once a week, using hot soapy water and a non-toxic disinfectant

• Keep food as dry as possible

• Avoid putting feeders in places where birds roost

• Only provide fatballs, suet and mealworms between 1st May & 31st October, avoiding seeds and nuts

All these steps can help prevent the spread of disease and keep birds in your area safe over the colder months. 💚

🔍 Spotted crane flies around your property over the last few months?

There is a chance they’ve been quietly laying eggs in your turf, which can grow into grass-root-loving larvae called leatherjackets, leaving behind large bare patches.

It’s well worth keeping an eye out for signs of these unwelcome guests:

• Soil disturbed by wildlife searching for a snack. 🐦

• Grass that pulls up easily due to damaged roots. 🌱

• Visible grey larvae - This is a sure sign you have an infestation. They will be 2-4 cms long at this time of year, and you may notice them inside your turf or crawling across paved areas. 🔍
