Viking Pest Control

A month ago builders tried to destroy a Wasp nest in a hole in the ground. The Wasps 🐝 have just rebuilt their home in the same place above the soil! Unfortunately this elaborate construction had to be treated and removed today for everyone’s safety.

“It didn’t look like that 15 years ago when I put the decking down!”

The smart-looking timber decking has, over the years, provided rats with a rather convenient shelter for their route in and out of this property.

During the inspection, we uncovered damage to the drainage system caused by persistent rat activity. The rats had been gnawing away at the plastic joint within the gulley, eventually compromising the pipework.

A great example of why hidden areas around a property shouldn’t be overlooked and why decking is often found to be concealing a whole host of sins underneath!

Repairs to the drainage system to follow.

‘Just fill the hole in…’

This is the worst advice that could be provided to a property suffering with an active wasps nest, unless of course, you want a house full of agitated wasps!

The wasps within the nest aren’t just going to roll over and die, because their entry point has been filled in - instead they will put up a fight and chew through timber / plasterboard, whatever they can in an attempt to survive. Often resulting in a house full of wasps!
