I’m trying to source a small batch of brown velvet fabric around 20cm square, has anyone got a small piece I could have? 😃

It seems upholsterers are a dying breed, and we’ve lost 2 in North Wales in the last year! So as you can imagine I’ve been busy, and I’m now doing commissions for Cefyn Burges 😊. So apologise for my lack of pictures, mainly down to a broken phone camera and being very forgetful when finishing work.
But today I finished this beautiful French revival sofa for Cefyn. This is an example of his new fabric, all pure wool and wonderful to work with. I prefer to work with antique furniture but I’m happy to put my hand to most challenges, and sometimes I come across furniture that is rewarding like the sofa below. The fabric has been hand stitched, many hours of close work, and thanks to my new glasses a little easier to see for the close work.
I hope you like it ☺️

Despite the heat in my workshop, I’ve managed to finish the sister chair to the one I completed the week before. It’s now reunited with its partner in Penygroes. They look like brother and sister 😃

Hi folks, if you have any broken furniture or repairs to stitching that needs a little tlc, don’t hesitate to get in touch and I’ll pop by and see if I can help, or of course a recover then I can transform your old chairs to give them a new lease of life.

Hi folks. Well what a month I’m having. I’m weeks behind due to problems with chair frames and repairs, and to add insult to injury, and my boat has broken its moorings, which meant a late night visit to the harbour. But despite all this I’m up and running.
I’ve done a few jobs over the last few weeks, headboards, chairs and numerous other bits of furnishings, and a few lined up ready for transformations. If you’re waiting on fabric, drop me a message and let me know how you’re getting on.

All the best Isaac

Over the last few days I’ve been getting back to using my traditional techniques. This beautiful 19th Century Bergere chair has come in for a little tlc. The original springing had completely collapsed. After a re-web and respringing, I’ve added new coconut coir fibre and stitched a new hessian cover ready for some new soft padding before the new fabric goes on. Next week it will be ready for its trip home 😃
