Delivery Driver – Timber & Building Supplies (3.5T Van)
📍 Benfleet, Essex (SS7)
💷 £27,000–£30,000 per year (depending on experience)
🕒 Full-time | Permanent | 40 hours per week
Working Hours:
• Monday–Friday
• 7:30am–4:30pm
• 1-hour lunch break
• Two 15-minute refreshment breaks
• Additional Saturday shifts available when required
Daws Heath Timber Ltd is a long-established, family-run timber merchant, and we're looking for a hardworking, reliable and friendly Delivery Driver to join our team.
Your main role will be delivering timber, fencing, landscaping and building materials across the SS, RM and CM postcodes, with the occasional delivery into London, using our 3.5T Isuzu Grafter dropside vans.
⚠️ Please note: This is a physically demanding role involving regular manual handling of timber, concrete fencing products, decking, bagged aggregates and other building materials.
When deliveries and vehicle loading are complete, you'll assist with general yard duties. During quieter periods, you may also support our production team manufacturing fence panels and trellis.
We're looking for someone who:
✔️ Is hardworking, punctual and reliable
✔️ Has excellent customer service and communication skills
✔️ Is physically fit and enjoys hands-on work
✔️ Works well independently and as part of a team
✔️ Has experience in the timber, construction or building trade (preferred)
✔️ Has forklift experience or is willing to undertake training
✔️ Takes pride in their appearance and represents the company professionally
Essential Requirements:
• Full UK driving licence with no current penalty points
• Minimum 2 years' driving experience (insurance requirement)
• Comfortable driving a 3.5T vehicle
