Chalfont Project | Progress Update 🧱

Good progress on our Chalfont project, where we’re constructing a new extension to create additional living space.

Starting with the groundworks, we’ve excavated and poured the foundations, installed new underground drainage and inspection chambers, built up the substructure and prepared the floor with insulation and a concrete slab.

The cavity walls are now progressing well, with brickwork to match the existing property and insulation being installed as we build.

Plenty of work goes into a project before the roof goes on, and these photos show just how much is involved in getting everything to this stage.

More updates to follow as the build progresses.

A bit more progress at Norwich Road, Dereham!

What a difference to the rear of this property compared to when we first started!

From the demolition of the original rear extension and extensive structural work to a completely rebuilt rear elevation, new roof, windows and bifold doors.

The exterior is now finished in black render, contrasting nicely with the original brick and flint boundary wall, which has been cleaned up and repointed.

The courtyard has also been cleared, levelled and finished with shingle, making a huge difference to the overall appearance.

Still more to come on this project, but it’s great to see how far it’s progressed!

Phase 2 at Portsmouth Aviation ✈️

Back at Portsmouth Aviation for phase 2 of the refurbishment works, this time giving the gents toilets a complete overhaul.

The existing toilets were completely stripped out and fully refitted with new flooring, a new cubicle and divider, upgraded heating, a new hot water cylinder, along with new basins and toilets. The walls have been finished in slate grey practical wall panelling, giving the whole area a clean, modern finish that’s hard-wearing and easy to maintain.

Another area completely transformed for a returning client.

Back to Redbricks!

The original soakaway had collapsed, so we dug everything out, cleaned and re-routed the existing pipework and installed 3m³ of new soakaway crates, wrapped in geotextile and surrounded with clean shingle.

All backfilled and topped off with topsoil.

Not a bad finish considering the rain and having a 3-tonne machine running around on it all day!

A little closer to home on this one… 👀

My own bathroom, designed and built by ZINK.

A chance to really go to town on the details and create something a little different. From the first-fix plumbing and concealed framework through to the final finishes, everything was carefully planned around the unusual roof space.

Featuring a vaulted and stepped ceiling, PIR niche lighting, Lusso Stone freestanding bath directly below the velux window, Lusso basin and concealed wall-hung toilet, custom-made rear-lit mirror, Crosswater brushed brass taps and heated towel rail, walk-in shower, feature large format tiling from Porcelanosa and Invictus LVT herringbone flooring.

The concealed LEDs within the ceiling details and niches completely change the feel of the space in the evening.
