The old boiler in Beccles had a 3 port valve and was extremely inefficient. We replaced it with this Worcester Bosch 4000 with a diverter valve. This means massive gas savings with the load compensation controls and a 10 year guarantee.

Something a bit different here, the benefits of a combination boiler: hot water on demand and really efficient software, with a plate heat exchanger so it can be used on an old heating system.

This week we have been doing oil again, in Wenhaston. Worcester external combination boiler giving loads of hot water on demand. This comes with a 7 year guarantee and super efficient controls, not to mention market leading Ultra Compact filtration on the oil line.

Fed up with rubbish water pressure? This was our solution for a customer in Halesworth.

Quite a lot to fit in the cupboard on this job.

This was a Megaflo install, to replace a gravity cylinder. The floor was strengthened and new base constructed. The wall was chased to accommodate cylinder.

The result is the homeowner now has loads of high pressure hot water with a quick heat up time.

Last week Tyler was mainly fitting this unvented cylinder, stopcock feed properly insulated and moved inside, new outside tap, wastes reworked, unvented cylinder fitted in very tight cupboard to massively improve hot water performance.

A customer in Lowestoft contacted us as they had just moved into a new home and had very poor water pressure.

We removed the old gravity fed cylinder and replaced it with this Megaflo. We also moved the heating/hot water controls and pump to make them serviceable. The result is that the hot water performance has improved massively, and our customers can look forward to fantastic showers.

Something quite interesting this week, (had to do some maths). A large property required a high output boiler. At higher outputs, a larger volume of water has to flow through the heating system to dissipate this heat.

However when putting a large amount of water through a heat exchanger the resistance from that heat exchanger increases exponentially. We use a pump to overcome this but sometimes this does not leave enough pressure to pump around the rest of the system.

The solution is hydraulic separation (shown with the low loss header here) where we effectively have 2 circuits with separate pumps (primary and secondary.

The result is heat throughout the property, the pumps working not flat out and the boiler operating at high efficiency.

We look forward to returning soon to add weather compensated controls and priority hot water to supercharge that efficiency.
