Renovating this front border - out with the buxus and in with Ilex crenata

Another border renovation on this garden, movements of trees/ shrubs/ plants ready for spring. Autumn is the best time to sort the garden. Spring is no longer the best time for planting new plants with the weather patterns we are getting. Autumn allows for plants to grow their root structures in the warm soil ready for the onslaught of spring and summer.

Autumn ornamental grass beds are now getting to their high points.

It’s that time of the year when painted heathers appear in stores. Just ask yourself why? Which numpty thought artificially spray painting a colour on a plant was a good idea?!

Contemplating while I walk through the first phase of this border. 4 months after propagating and seed planting. I say to clients we are on a journey together. This client had blind faith and constantly pushed. This journey was cut short too soon. If you’re looking down I hope you like the view. Phase two starts in October. Keep smiling.
