🔥Gas Fire Repair & Service🔥

I was called out to repair a gas fire after the customer noticed that the whole fire was moving whenever they tried to light it.

⚠️ I advised the customer not to use the fire until I had investigated the problem, as this clearly wasn't safe.

After investigating, I found that the installation had been carried out incorrectly. The two bolts towards the top of the gas fire, which were meant to secure the fire to the wall, had actually come away from the wall.

🔧 I removed the fire, drilled new fixing holes and securely refitted it using the correct fixings supplied with the appliance. I also used heat-resistant silicone over the fixings to help keep everything secure.

🔥 While I was there, I also serviced the gas fire and corrected the installation.

Once everything was put back together, the fire was secure with absolutely no movement whatsoever.

Another gas fire made safe and another job done! 💪🔥

If your gas appliance doesn't look or feel right, don't take any chances. Stop using it and get it checked by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

This customers bath had previously not been installed correctly, there were a fair few leaks around the bath and it was going through the sealing to downstairs.

The bath was also broken, because the installer had not use the manufacturers provided legs - instead they had used some wooden slats which was only holding one side of the bath. The other side was resting on the wooden strips. In less than no time the bath had cracked and was broken.

The customer hired me to replace the whole thing. It took me all day where as the previous installer did it in 3 hours. You get what you pay for. Buy Cheap Buy Twice is what I always say to my customers. A quality jobs take time

Main Heat Exchanger on ideal logic combi boiler. Before and after it's cleaned. Very important and recommended by all manufacturers every 3 - 5 years. This will increase the Efficiency, Longevity and Performance of your boiler.

This magnetic filter hadn't been cleaned for years! 😬

All this sludge caused the boiler's diverter valve to seize and blocked the plate heat exchanger, meaning the heating came on whenever the customer used the hot water.

Both parts had to be replaced.

A simple annual boiler service, including cleaning the magnetic filter, helps prevent costly repairs and keeps your heating system running efficiently.

Don't skip your boiler service – prevention is always cheaper than repair.

🧑🏻‍🔧 Another happy customer!

Today I replaced a faulty toilet flush valve that had been constantly leaking into the pan. I upgraded it to a high-quality dual flush syphon and also fitted a new fill valve to ensure everything was working as it should.

I also found that the previous installer hadn't used wall plugs when securing the cistern to the wall, leaving it loose. I fitted the correct wall plugs and securely fixed the cistern in place.

Everything was thoroughly tested before I left, and it's now working perfectly. 🚽✅

Another quality repair completed last week. 👨‍🔧

The customer had an ongoing leak beneath their basin after a previous installation had been poorly carried out. Parts had been damaged and silicone had been used as a temporary fix rather than addressing the root cause.

I replaced the entire basin waste and click-clack plug with high-quality brass components instead of plastic, creating a much stronger, more durable installation. Everything was fitted correctly, thoroughly tested, and left completely leak-free.

New gas hob installed. Make sure to measure twice before buying your hob. Also check the gas inlet too because it's more costly to re-pipe the gas run
