Charlie completed his first tap change today 👏

Originally, the plan was to replace the cartridges on both sides, but once we got into it the tap was badly corroded and part of it snapped.

At that point, there was no sensible repair option, so the tap had to be replaced.

Luckily, we carry a good range of van stock, so we were able to get it changed and sorted there and then.

Good job from Charlie on his first tap replacement 🔧

Kitchen sink leak repaired in Midsomer Norton 🔧💧

This one turned out to be more than just a leaking seal.

While investigating the kitchen sink leak, I found the waste fitting was designed for an overflow connection — but no overflow pipe had actually been fitted.

That meant if the sink ever filled up to the overflow, the water could have ended up underneath the sink instead of safely draining away.

I fitted the correct overflow connection, resealed the waste and tested everything afterwards ✅

A small fault, but exactly the sort of thing worth spotting before it turns into a much bigger leak.

Hidden leak found & repaired in Priston 💧🔧

Water was coming through the kitchen ceiling, so the investigation started upstairs.

After lifting the floorboards, I traced the leak to a hidden fitting beneath the floor that had been damaged by a rodent.

The damaged fitting was removed, repaired and fully tested before everything was put back together ✅

Exactly the sort of awkward little plumbing repair we specialise in.

💧 4-Month-Old Bathroom Panel Installation Already Leaking

Called out to this bathroom after water had been leaking through into the chemist below.

The wall panel installation was only around 4 months old, but water was still finding its way through around the bath area.

We carried out a thorough repair:

🔧 Removed and resealed the bath taps
🔧 Removed and resealed the shower screen
🔧 Fully resealed around the bath
🔧 Tightened and secured the bath feet
🔧 Added extra fixings to improve stability
🔧 Checked and tested everything afterwards

A good example of why simply adding more silicone isn’t always enough — movement and poor sealing can soon lead to water damage below.

Proud dad moment today 👏🔧

Charlie completed his first outside tap repair and did a cracking job.

He’s also doing really well at college, enjoying learning the trade and getting used to a completely new routine after leaving school. With autism and ADHD, big changes can take a bit of adjusting to, so it’s been great seeing him settle in, enjoy the work and grow in confidence.

Plenty more to learn, but he’s making brilliant progress already. 💪

This shower was allowing water to get past the old silicone seal and through to the room below.

The failed silicone was removed and the shower was resealed with a larger, more substantial bead to give the joint a much better seal.

A simple-looking silicone failure can cause a lot of damage downstairs if it isn’t caught early.

A leak from a top-floor bathroom was causing water damage all the way down towards the ground floor.

After investigating, the problem was traced to a leaking basin isolation valve. The faulty valve was replaced and the pipework checked afterwards.

It shows how a very small plumbing leak can cause a surprising amount of damage if left.

Another waste leak repaired in Bath.

The leak was traced back to the bathroom waste, causing water to escape where it shouldn’t. The faulty section was repaired and everything tested afterwards to make sure it was watertight.
