It`s test It Tuesday — Check Your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
Your quick reminder to check the one bit of kit that quietly protects you while you enjoy your home.

Did you know your carbon monoxide and smoke alarms have an expiry date?
All too often I find alarms that are missing, poorly placed, out of date, or simply not working. If there’s no date label, it’s out of date. Simple as that.

🔍 What to check today
• Press the test button — make sure it sounds
• Check the expiry date (most alarms last around 7 years)
• Make sure it’s not blocked by ornaments, dust, or cobwebs

A 10‑second test can genuinely save a life — especially in Bath’s heritage homes, where poor draw can produce CO long before you notice anything is wrong.

If you’ve had smoke hang‑back, downdraughts, headaches when the fire’s lit, or anything that feels “off”, get in touch.
