Introducing Cirrus, a new piece in the sculptures portfolio. The mesmerising form with a beautifully tiered spiral, echoes the natural geometry of a vortex or a layered cloud formation.

This piece brings artistic drama, sculptural interest and ambient aquatic acoustics to its surroundings.

“Two English Man in the most overcast Country on earth have elevated the Chuck. E Cheese-inspired plastic pool slide to the sublime. Yes, actually. But fair warning: you’re going to want one.

When I visit a Splinterworks slide in real life, it looks even better than it appears in the images reproduced herein, like an installation or better yet extalation (my word) by Anish Kapoor. How is it that a slide creates so much drama and interest and yet somehow seems to impose a sense of purpose? From a distance it doesn’t even look like an object. It looks more like a flyby from the Silver Surfer. The slide I happened to visit is in the Hamptons. I asked the owner if he’s ever had any sort of issue with it. “Not once in three years,” he says “I wish everything here worked as well.”

Properly placed, a Splinterworks slide bends the light and image in a way that humans find irresistibly magnetic and mesmerising. But unlike Anish Kapoor’s Cloud Gate, this Splinterworks slide is yours and you can climb on top of it. Oh, and slide down it. Like Fred Flintstone in the opening credits.”

MAKE an entrance.

More new pieces from the Splinterworks sculpture portfolio for you to digest.

Introducing Curvatura. A contemporary architectural water feature that instantly captures the eye through a beautiful balance of opposing forces.

This outdoor water artwork beautifully fuses two opposing elements: the fluid, hand-sculpted curves of mirror-polished, marine-grade stainless steel and the razor-sharp, geometric precision of the waterfall itself.

Curvatura forms a pair of landmark waterfall entry pillars outside the minimalist doorway of a private residence, its crisp waterfall providing a dramatic welcome to the property.

Because first impressions count!

And you thought we only made slides and baths… Introducing Cintura, its diminutive size belies the impact it makes on its surroundings. Designed to encourage quiet reflection, the hand-made mirror-polished, marine-grade stainless steel, has a cinched, vase-like silhouette.

Cintura - is italian for ‘waist’ (pronounced chhh - go on have a go!) Water gently spills over the perimeter in a delicate, uniform curtain before vanishing into a hidden, subterranean reservoir, creating a captivating, seamless focal point.

In true Splinterworks style, Cintura reimagines the traditional water bowl, elevating a classic garden fixture into a shimmering, weightless sculpture.

Making memories together… 💦

George Bernard Shaw said it best “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing”

This was shot at One Shenton, Singapore, where the residents get to play with a Splinterworks Slinx slide and new water play sculpture, Pentara, 8 floors up! 🌇

Since 2009, Splinterworks has reimagined familiar objects into functional sculptures. Challenging design norms and instilling a sense of wonder in the everyday, our iconic pieces serve a global market, and we are best recognised for our custom pool slides and hammock bathtubs.

Our sculptural slides redefine the traditional water slide as an architectural statement. Each slide is hand-crafted and individually tailored to fit the space and preferences of the client; we also love a challenge to create something unique. Whether hand-finished in mirror polished stainless steel or another meticulously applied patina, each piece captures light and water to serve as a fine art installation, while also bringing joy to the everyday through its’ function.

Crafted to transcend passing trends, our designs are intentionally theatrical. By seamlessly integrating handrails and concealing fixings within fluid geometries, we eliminate visual clutter. However, performance and function remain paramount. Spatial and climate challenges are solved through ambitious engineering: for example, Waha features a twist to optimize deck space; Orchid utilizes a gravity-defying cantilevered structure; and Tryst rests resplendent on three points with zero visible fittings. All our slides feature a patented water-cooling system to keep surfaces cool to the touch, in even the hottest climates.

The overarching philosophy for this project was to create a home that would be cherished as a legacy. From our first site visit with the homeowner, we understood that building this home meant much more than just constructing a beautiful property. It was to be a sanctuary for her family, of all ages, to relish for generations.

The James Doyle Design Associates team suggested a Splinterworks sculptural slide would be most befitting of this project. They were looking for an ‘important landscape moment’; a piece that enhanced their holistic design - which included the pool area and terrace layouts, as well as the entire exterior space of the property. Their beloved signature design style, that celebrates the intersection of nature and art, is perfectly exemplified in this project where the geometrical hardscaping, with soft naturalistic planting and sculptural elements, are perfectly resolved to encapsulate this meeting of art with nature. Significant Homes helped execute the installation of the extraordinary exterior.

With a remarkable Georgian-style residence by Vanderhorn Architects, the pool leisure space needed to be equally as impressive to complement the classical vernacular of the property. At the forefront of the design by JDDA was considering the sight-lines from the house - across the lawns and on to the pool area. The symmetrical design of the pool deck layout is pleasingly offset by the playful circular form of the sculptural slide.

Splinterworks’ Cyma slide was chosen as it also bridges the path to act as a moon-gate, and with headroom of 6’7’’ under the arch, it is tall enough to pass under and enjoy - a playful interaction for every generation, particularly those choosing to stay dry!

The outstanding team created a timeless, cohesive environment which will effortlessly host the years to come.
