Oliver Hazael has been working as a carpenter, plasterer and contractor since leaving art college in 1997. He lives in Bath and works in the city and surrounding areas. Other Work

We fit many kitchens and bathrooms, and cover all aspects of renovation for houses, apartments and commercial premises throughout Bath. As well as working in numerous Bath homes, we have completed projects in an art gallery, several shops, and a yoga studio. B E D • S U R R O U N D
Oli had a lot of fun recently building these birch faced plywood and Valchromat cupboards and wardrobe for a converted garage in Lansdown, Bath. He needed the design to work around the existing window, en-suite bathroom doorway, a consumer unit and the bed’s headboard, whilst also factoring some deeper storage for hanging clothes. Altogether quite a head scratcher!
We worked closely with the client and she is really happy her garage conversion is almost ready to stick on Airbnb. 👏
The Valchromat is ‘Khaki’ which comes up a bit darker when it’s varnished - as it is here.

Oli’s been hard at work on a bespoke fitted wardrobe this week which we can share soon - glad to not be working in the crazy heat anymore!

Happy Tuesday all!
We just revisited a house in the Widcombe area of Bath to photograph these wardrobes that Oli built in the winter. The clients are slowly putting the room together - aren’t slow renovations the best?! They chose the lovely Inchyra Blue for the walls with a complimentary fresh white for the wood work. Oli built a set of three drawers in each side, so both partners have useful storage space.

Happy Tuesday all!

It was exciting yesterday to see the finished product, photographing a job carried out back in January. We stripped out a big old cupboard that housed a sink in the primary bedroom of this Victorian family home. We arranged to move the radiator and install lighting and sockets either side of the new bed position and then after a bit of plastering to repair walls, Oli built this pair of wardrobes, each with a set of three drawers internally. Happy sunny March days to you all! I just want to sack off work and go and play in the garden 😂

Here’s some pics of the boot room I photographed recently, with panelled walls, with shelves and hooks, and seating area encompassing shoe and boot storage (note the enviable slipper collection 🥰), a wardrobe for extra coats and things, and on the other side of the room a matching cupboard to house the boiler.
All built on-site by Oli for clients living just outside Bath.

We hope you have all been enjoying the Spring weather. Yay! 🌷

How fabulous is the colour our clients chose for the boot room Oli built at the end of last year. Jewel Beetle by Little Greene. There is a cupboard on the opposite side of the room to house the boiler, a generous wardrobe for out of season coats or ones that need a hanger, and lots of space for hooks and shoes and a welly stand. Such a happy space 🪲🪲🪲

Built in a Georgian apartment in Bath this is a pair of alcove units Oli built just before Christmas, painted by Mark is Picture Gallery Red, walls in Setting Plaster. Both by Farrow and Ball. We like the way the Picture Gallery Red picks up the spines of all the old books

Some pics of sunnier times to raise the spirits! Here is a pergola Oli and Jesse built for some clients in Widcombe, Bath. The treated pine timber will have weathered to a pretty grey colour now. We placed the posts on galvanised holders to keep them off the wet ground and made a screen at the back for privacy from the neighbours.
We have built quite a few different garden structures over the years; simple frames structures, small bespoke sheds and shelters clad in timber or roofed with shingles, to large garden rooms for extra living space or study space.

We’re almost though January - hoorah!
Here is a set of large bespoke wardrobes designed by Oli and built by Catherine for a client on the outskirts of Bath, Somerset, painted by Mark in a standard white paint for a classic, fresh look. The middle section is built in front of a chimney breast. We installed a full length mirror in this shallower section. (Check the reel for this wardrobe to see the mirror; I forgot to get a photo 🙈).
There are five carcasses, each one with two tall doors and a smaller storage section above with two small doors. The doors are panelled and beaded for a traditional look.
