Planning consent granted for a replacement dwelling in Hampshire.

The proposal reinterprets the local vernacular, combining red brick and flint to anchor the new house within its rural setting.

We worked closely with the clients and planning authority to develop a proposal which balances the needs of modern family living with a form and materiality that sits comfortably within its surroundings.

Meet Claire, who brings a meticulous attention to detail and a passion for interior design to her work as a fully qualified Architect.

Currently, Claire is finalising a project that has transformed two barn conversions into a single, cohesive residence, involving a complex internal renovation, including a stairway redesign and spatial reconfiguration. Her upcoming project, a Georgian townhouse renovation on Bathwick Hill, presents unique challenges due to its listed status. However, the carefully crafted plans are taking shape, channeling our clients individual tastes into a scheme that is in harmony with the existing Georgian architecture.

We are delighted to welcome Hadi, a talented Bath University 3rd-year student, to our team at Hapticity Architects. His passion for ethical and sustainable architecture, combined with his love of travel, makes him an excellent fit for our team. Having spent most of his life in Sudan, Hadi brings a unique understanding of how thoughtful architecture can positively impact environments and the people who inhabit them. As a designer, Hadi adopts a user-centric approach, seeking to solve problems by considering the perspectives of those affected by the space. He also draws inspiration from his personal experiences in his design. With a passion for travel, Hadi seizes every opportunity to explore diverse built and natural environments, capturing his experiences through photography.

Really excited to have been part of bringing the RIBA South West Awards to the Locksbrook campus at Bath Spa University, tomorrow Thursday the 7th May πŸ™Œ

A special shoutout to Helen, whose role as Chair of RIBA Bristol and Bath has been key in making this happen.

Great to have Chris Williamson (RIBA President) joining us, along with local MP Wera Hobhouse and Alex Sherman from the Bath Preservation Trust.

With 13 practices shortlisted, it’s shaping up to be a brilliant evening celebrating some of the best architecture in the South West ✨

A building that creates a view.

The circular window draws the local church into focus, framing a view long present, but never before perceived.
This is a glimpse of a recently completed project, which we look forward to sharing more of in the new year.

As the year draws to a close, we look back over the projects that have reached completion in the last 12 months.

Introducing this beautifully detailed Bath extension, defined by material and light.
Handmade bricks specially selected to complement the buff-coloured stone of the existing house, and zinc cladding, enclose the single storey addition. Tapered reveals, crafted out of cut and bonded brick specials, deepen shadows and define the windows, creating a careful balance between solidity and openness.

Employing tongue and groove panelling to craft a warm and inviting stairwell that exudes a sense of comfort and sophistication. By incorporating this design element, we can create a seamless transition between floors, adding depth and visual interest to the overall aesthetic of the space.

Reflecting on one of our most cherished barn conversion projects β€” where traditional structure meets contemporary elegance. This sculpted staircase, engineered from steel and finished in distressed copper, forms the heart of the space. Its warm tonal character contrasts beautifully with the surrounding light, seamlessly connecting levels while celebrating both industrial strength and artisanal finesse.
At Hapticity Architects, we believe architecture should be felt as much as it is seen. Every curve, every grain, every transition was considered to enhance the spatial journey.
πŸ”Ή Adaptive reuse with character
πŸ”Ή Craft-led design
πŸ”Ή Distressed copper over steel – durability with soul
πŸ”Ή Architecture experienced through touch and movement
