🏠🎨 Full Flat Redecoration Completed 🎨🏠

This one was for a young lady who had just moved into her new flat.

Unfortunately, she'd been left with a pretty poor decorating job by a previous decorator... so it was time to put things right 👌

The living room and kitchen had:

❌ Splodges on the walls and ceilings
❌ Roller tram lines everywhere
❌ Missed roller marks
❌ Paint all over light switches and socket fronts

So, rather than trying to patch it up, the best solution was to start again.

Preparation included:

⚡ Living room & kitchen fully sanded using an electric drywall sander
🧱 Defects made good where required

Finished in Tikkurila White Matt, leaving a smooth, clean finish throughout ✨

The previous decorator hadn't touched the bedrooms, so these were completed from scratch with the correct preparation.

🛏️ Master Bedroom – Walls & ceiling finished in the popular 'New Plaster' look

🛏️ Guest Bedroom – Finished in White Matt

🚪 All woodwork throughout the property finished in Johnstone's AQUA Guard White Satinwood for a durable, long-lasting finish.

It's always disappointing to see customers left with work they aren't happy with, but it's even more satisfying being able to put it right and leave them with a home they can finally enjoy. 😊

Back to this returning customer's property to give the front entrance a fresh new look 👌

The biggest transformation was the door frame, changing from Mahogany to Brilliant White 🤍

Preparation included:

🪵 Door frame fully sanded back
🖌️ 2 coats of Undercoat applied
✨ Finished with Dulux Weathershield Gloss Brilliant White

The front door required minimal preparation, but attention to detail was still key:

🧱 Panels caulked
🛠️ Cracks filled and made good

Finished in Farrow & Ball Hague Blue (colour matched in Dulux Weathershield Gloss) 💙

A classic colour combination that really lifts the front of the property and provides long-lasting protection against the British weather ☀️🌧️

🛏️🎨 Bedroom Redecoration Completed 🎨🛏️

Another project completed recently for a returning customer – always great to be asked back! 👌

Preparation included:

🧽 Walls stripped back and made good
📄 Lining paper hung throughout to provide a smooth, long-lasting finish
💧 Severe water staining to the ceiling treated and sealed before decorating

Finished using:

🤍 Crown Gallery White Matt – Walls (2 coats)
🤍 Dulux Brilliant White Matt – Ceiling
🚪 Dulux Diamond Satinwood – Woodwork

A lot of preparation went into this room, but the end result was a fresh, clean finish ready for the customer to enjoy.

A lady looked at me and said...
"Painting are you?"

I replied...
"No love... this is just my costume for today." 😂

Honestly, some of the questions you get are just Baffling.

How any "Professional Decorator" can leave a job in this state is beyond me! 😮 And have the cheek to ask for payment 🤣.C...

Client told me he's 70+ and has no online presence, i can see why 🤦🏼🙈. Time to retire pal. 👴

That's a wrap after 5 weekends of hard graft! 💪

Finally completed the full internal redecoration of a Nursery:

🧸 4 Classrooms
🎈 Play Room
🪜 Staircase
🧺 Utility Room
🚻 Toilet

With the nursery open throughout the week, all the work had to be completed on Saturdays and Sundays to avoid disrupting the children and staff.

It's certainly been a challenge!
Long days every weekend, 18 days worked straight off the belt with 1 day off. Safe to say I'm a broken man 😅

The only thing keeping me going now is that payday 💰🤑

Ive promised Helen Marie No more weekend work for me...

A huge thank you to the nursery for trusting me with the project & my trusted decorator friends for helping get it completed.

🪟🎨 Conservatory Redecoration Completed This Week 🎨🪟

This one involved a lot more than just painting...

The conservatory cill had suffered significant rot and required major Repair Care restoration before any decorating could begin.

Preparation included:

🪵 Full rake out of the damaged timber
💧 Dry Rot Hardener applied to weakened areas
🛠️ 3 tubes of Repair Care Dry Flex 4 used to rebuild one section
🛠️ 1 additional tube of Dry Flex 4 used on another repair

Once all repairs had fully cured, the conservatory was prepared and redecorated using:

🤍 Dulux Weathershield Undercoat
🤍 Dulux Weathershield Satinwood White

Repairing timber properly rather than simply painting over it helps protect it for years to come and restores its strength and appearance 👌

A lot of time went into this restoration, but the finished result was well worth it.

Another weekend spent carrying out a full internal redecoration of this nursery 👌

With the nursery operating throughout the week, all the decorating has to be completed on weekends to minimise disruption for the children and staff.

It's been a busy few weeks...

Ive worked 14 days worked straight 😫😴

🏠🎨 External Redecoration Completed this week 🏠🎨

Preparation included:

🚪 Garage door fully scraped and sanded back
🛡️ Zinc Phosphate Primer applied to protect the metal surface
🎨 Finished with 2 coats of colour matched Metalshield Gloss

The fascia, soffit and frame were all:

🧼 Fully washed down
🪵 Prepared ready for decoration

The canopy required a little more attention:

🧽 Washed down
⚒️ Scraped back
🧱 Filled where required

All timber surfaces were then finished in Dulux Weathershield Satinwood White 🤍

A lot of preparation goes into external work, but it's what keeps the finish looking good and protects the property for years to come 👌
