🚗 **Almost two months of starting problems — finally solved!**
This customer contacted **The Automotive Expert** following recommendations from two garages, after struggling to get his car’s non-starting issue resolved.
Following several visits arranged through a major UK insurance provider, a replacement key was recommended, despite no fault codes being present. **From the information available to us, this appeared to be a guess rather than a diagnosis supported by testing.**
Although the provider advertises car key replacement, the customer told us they were unwilling to spend approximately two hours completing the job, so it was passed to a subcontracted automotive locksmith.
After nearly two hours, an additional key had been programmed, but the original starting problem remained. The new key’s remote central locking did not work either.

We followed a testing plan, checking the relevant circuits and components. Our testing identified a **faulty ignition switch** as the cause of the starting problem.
We replaced it with a **genuine dealer-supplied part** and tested the vehicle. The car now starts correctly. ✅
The customer was delighted and asked us to supply another spare key, even though the previous replacement had been covered by his insurance.
