Today is the UN’s International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies ✨💙

It highlights the importance of tackling air pollution and protecting the quality of the air we breathe🌍🌬️

🌟Now in its 7th year, it was established to raise awareness of air pollution and encourage action to improve air quality globally, with the emphasis on co-operation between governments, businesses, organisations and individuals.

👉At Aermec, we see this as an opportunity to look beyond temperature control...

👉And recognise the role HVAC systems can play in creating healthier, cleaner and more comfortable indoor environments.

👉We also acknowledge that energy efficiency and environmental impact is equally as important.

There were 39 days during this summer’s 5 heatwaves 🌡️when areas in the UK hit 30°C or higher.

💥This smashed the previous UK record of 30 days set in 1995 and it’s estimated that the June heatwave meant that children lost 7 million school days.

📚With classrooms recording temperatures in excess of 26°C (the recommended maximum temperature), it’s imperative ❗that our schools, higher education colleges and universities have versatile HVAC solutions that can tackle rising temperatures plus adjust to varying levels of demand throughout the year.

Those responsible for student and staff well-being need to be mindful that higher temperatures are now becoming the norm.

Aermec has a host of proven solutions - ☎️ contact us to find out more.

A warning from the Environmental Audit Committee, highlights how extreme heat is the UK's ‘silent killer’.

🔹It reinforces something the HVAC industry has been discussing for years: cooling is no longer a luxury; it's an essential part of building resilience.

At Aermec, we believe the conversation shouldn't begin when temperatures soar - and it certainly shouldn't end when they fall.

🔹As climate patterns continue to change, the need for intelligent, energy-efficient cooling solutions should be an ongoing consideration. Alongside comfort, we're increasingly designing for occupant wellbeing, operational resilience, energy performance and the ability of buildings to adapt to a warmer future.

🔹The challenge isn't simply how we cool our buildings. It's how we do so responsibly, efficiently and sustainably.

🔹Every heatwave reinforces the same message: proactive planning is always more effective than reactive action.

🔹The industry has the expertise and the technology. The opportunity now is to ensure resilient cooling is considered as part of every building's long-term strategy - not just when the next heat alert appears.

As a record-breaking heatwaves hit parts of the UK, the Chair of the Environmental Audit Committee has pushed the government on what it is doing to tackle

Checking your local air quality can potentially change what ‘good indoor air’ actually needs to do. Even in well-sealed buildings, a significant portion of indoor air is influenced by what’s outside through ventilation and infiltration.

Modern, well-designed systems can also:

🔹 Incorporate high-efficiency filtration (e.g., F7–HEPA-level where appropriate)
🔹 Manage controlled fresh air ventilation
🔹 Support CO₂ monitoring and demand-controlled ventilation
🔹 Reduce points of entry for pollution.

Monitoring air quality will make indoor environments healthier and more stable. Follow this link on the .gov.uk website to find out air quality in your area:

Industrial efficiency shouldn’t come at the expense of the environment🌱🌍🏞️

Italian winemaking 🍇is as much about preserving tradition as it is about embracing innovation.

💡This case study explains why - at the new headquarters of winery, Corte Capitelli - sustainability has become a key focus.

❗🔑Creating the right conditions throughout the production process while respecting the surrounding landscape was essential.

👉Follow the link to find out how smart HVAC design can deliver comfort, energy efficiency by deploying cutting edge technology.

Industrial performance and the natural landscape can live in total harmony as we can testify🍃💚

🌒Today, we will be experiencing for the first time in 30 years, a solar eclipse. Let's hope the skies are clear!🙏🕶️

🌟Even the most powerful natural events can temporarily change the way we generate and use energy and this is where HVAC systems play an important role in maintaining comfort and performance.

At Aermec, we're focused on delivering sustainable climate solutions that help buildings perform efficiently every day of the year🌱☀️🍂❄️

Wherever you are, enjoy the eclipse!🌙🚀

International Cat 😺Day question: Do cats actually like air conditioning?

They don't need Arctic temperatures but they do appreciate a comfortable indoor climate. Our feline friends have a body temperature of around 38-39°C and because they don’t sweat the way we do, cool themselves differently from us.

They mainly lose heat through:

🐾 Panting (when very hot)
🐾 Grooming (evaporative cooling from saliva)
🐾 Small sweat glands in their paw pads.

Contrary to what you would think, their fur helps regulate heat surprisingly well.

Give them a well-conditioned room and they'll do what cats do best: find the perfect spot and claim it as their own😹

So just like us, cats choose comfortable buildings every time. Happy people. Happy cats! 😺🐾😹😻

👁️‍🗨️We’re all aware of the unprecedented growth in AI datacentres and high performance computing (HPC)👁️‍🗨️

Knowledge of heat transfer 🔥and airflows💨 is now crucial. The densities in modern datacentres are outpacing traditional cooling technologies, which not only consume vast amounts of energy, take up valuable space.

❗️Quite simply - traditional air cooling cannot handle the immense thermal output of modern AI nor HPC chips.

Who better placed than HVAC engineers who have the expertise to understand heat loads, how to dissipate that heat and cool more efficiently?🧑‍💻👷‍♂️👷‍♀️🛠️💡

As the main architects in what is fundamentally a new paradigm for cooling - the question is no longer about how to cool a data centre hall, but chip level heat removal. Liquid cooling is now the real battleground as rack densities skyrocket at an unprecedented pace🚀

AI is here to stay and will play a significant role in supporting Platform Engineer-ing and modernising how work is planned, delivered and validated. This is not about replacing engineers, but about augmenting their capabilities.
