I could be wrong.. but I think I may be the only person in the Essex area that actually sews leather panels in by hand. If the leather is too badly damaged or contaminated to be restored using repair products, then the only recourse is to replace the part.
This presents many potential obstacles such as finding someone to take the furniture away in order to strip down the entire piece, unpick the panel, source a matching leather (which may only be available in a whole hide), which is unlikely to match perfectly anyway.. and then cut, machine and re fit before delivering.

My method of pigmenting and sewing in the new leather is done onsite in just two or three hours and can save an otherwise perfectly good suite from having to be replaced.
