🐭⚡ Not all electricians are called out for faulty wiring… sometimes it’s a wildlife rescue that’s a little too late! ⚡🐭

Today’s emergency call-out was a bit different…

The customer’s kitchen circuit kept tripping. After some fault finding, we discovered the culprit – a mouse (Jerry) had decided that electrical cable looked like a tasty snack. Unfortunately for him, 230 volts had other ideas! 😬

The damaged cable was safely repaired, the circuit was fully tested, and the customer was back up and running in no time.

Moral of the story: If your electrics keep tripping, don’t just keep resetting the breaker. It could be something much more serious hidden away.

Today’s job in Wickford: Removed the broken dishwasher that had officially retired itself 🪦😂 and replace it with a fresh, customer-supplied Hotpoint model. All fitted, levelled and running like a dream. 🚿🔧

⚡ Electrical Xmas Safety Tip – “The Overworked Socket” 😂

Winter is the season when plug sockets suddenly become busier than Santa’s workshop.
Heaters, air fryers, Christmas lights, chargers, electric blankets — all fighting for the same outlet like it’s Black Friday. 😅

But here’s the truth:
Overloading a socket is one of the quickest ways to cause overheating or an electrical fire.

A good rule of thumb:
👉 If it gives off heat, it deserves its own plug — no sharing!
(Heaters are divas. They don’t like roommates.)
