We’re delighted to share that Greaves Tree Services has successfully passed our Arb Approved Contractor assessment once again! 🌳✅

This year’s assessment was a little different, as we were audited as a medium to large-sized business, reflecting just how far we’ve come over the last few years. We’re incredibly proud to have met the high standards required across every aspect of our business, from health & safety and technical competence to customer service and environmental management.

A huge thank you to every member of our team. Your professionalism, dedication and commitment to doing the job right every single day made this achievement possible. We’d also like to thank our clients for continuing to trust us with their projects and supporting our growth.

We’re always striving to improve, invest in our people and equipment, and deliver the highest standards across the highways, utility and arboriculture sectors.

Not a bad spot for a dinner break! 🌿🚜

Days like this remind you there are worse offices to work in! It’s great to see the team keeping our roadside network safe and well-maintained while enjoying some of the best scenery the Lake District has to offer.

We’re thrilled to add a Reform Metrac HX7 to our verge-cutting fleet! Huge thanks to Stuart Taylors International in Blackburn for their fantastic service. They’ve been brilliant not just with this purchase, but also supporting our Forst wood chippers and McConnel Roboflails. While the Metrac will serve our existing verge contracts, it’ll also be available for hire when not in use. We look forward to more great dealings in the future!Stuart Taylor International

🌳 March madness before nesting season!

It’s our busiest time of the year and the team have been flat out across the UK.

In Workington, we’ve been carrying out major tree surgery using the Hirst Brothers Contractors Ltd Jekko crane, alongside Stuart Brown, tackling some seriously technical lifts.

Across Cumbria, we’ve been pushing on with ash dieback works with the help of SJ Services, keeping sites safe and managed.

And further afield, our crews have been delivering key highways operations up on the A9 in Scotland.

Greaves Tree Services is in full swing—getting critical works completed before our feathered friends take over. 🦅

Role Includes:
• Vegetation clearance on powerline contracts
• Working to strict safety and utility industry standards

Requirements:
• Minimum UA1, UA2, and UA3 qualifications required
• Utility arboriculture experience preferred
• Strong safety-focused attitude

🚧 Ground Maintenance Operatives – Highway Verge Works

Role Includes:
• Highway verge cutting and vegetation maintenance
• Working as part of a team under traffic management systems

Requirements:
• CSCS card required
• Experience in grounds maintenance or highways work preferred
• Tickets (e.g. brushcutter, chainsaw) an advantage
• Willingness to work outdoors in all conditions

Role Includes:
• General tree surgery operations
• Domestic, commercial, and contract works

Requirements:
• Chainsaw and climbing tickets preferred
• Ground staff and climbers considered

✨ As we wrap up an amazing 2025, we at Greaves Tree Services want to send a huge festive thank you to all our hardworking staff who’ve put in so much effort this year. Your dedication has made 2025 a year to remember!

🌲 HIGH-RISK TREE REMOVAL ON THE A66 — COMPLETED THIS WEEKEND 🌲

This weekend our team safely removed a section of dangerous trees from the central reservation on the A66 at Bassenthwaite Lake — all carried out under a tight contra-flow traffic management system.

This was high-risk, precision work in a live highways environment… exactly what our specialist crews are trained for.

A massive thank you to our dedicated teams who work weekends, nights and in all conditions to keep the region’s roads safe. Your commitment is second to none.
