A garage being clad in local sandstone by master craftsman Richard Meller. This is being done to match in with the existing stone buildings of the area and in keeping with the character of the region.

Just over 13 years ago we started to restore a derelict 18th century 'Ha-Ha', a landscape feature that holds back livestock but allows for an uninterrupted view. The project was of an amazing scale and we were on and off for 18 months. It also involved restoring the stepped gateways to the hall. It was very special to be involved in restoring this historic landscape.

A dry stone boundary wall that we completed recently in Greenhill, Sheffield with quarried Yorkshire sandstone. The client wanted to match the stone built heritage of the historic village centre of the suburb and was happy with the result. Some tricky angles and toppers hand chiselled on site.

Quite an interesting job this one- a bit of historical restoration. An old disused railway embankment wall needed repairing in two sections and on one side it was about 20ft high so required scaffolding. Used lime mortar to put the cope on. I think we did justice to a piece of history

An example of one of our 'wet' projects. This pointed mortared boundary wall in an historic Yorkshire village near Pontefract was built by us last year to replace a concrete wall and 'match in' with the gable of an old stone building. The sawn cope stones really gave the wall a nice finish.

This winter we built a very large dry stone wall about 2 metres in height built to replace a hedge along a boundary. We also built a series of apertures along its length for built in lights. The clients were very happy with the result. It was a struggle at times through freezing temperatures but we are proud of how it looks.

Dreaming of those summer days... We completed the stonework on these sections of flat-capped dry stone haha on a country estate in the east midlands a while back during some seriously hot weather. The haha is a traditional feature that allows for an unspoilt view while keeping back livestock.
