Our Grimethorpe project is coming on. The wall is almost finished and the steps are starting to take shape. 🪜🧱

The top level is going to be natural tuft and the lower area will be a large Indian stone patio. We have a bit more prep work to do before we move on to those though. 👷🏻‍♂️💪🏼

Team 2 are back on it after Deans holiday and straight into a new project in Thorpe Hesley. 👷🏻‍♂️

The block laying has commenced in our ‘Rock Face’ job in Grimethorpe. 👏🏼👏🏼

We finally excavated to the point we could start on the new retaining wall. 👷🏻‍♂️👷🏻‍♂️ Boy, that was a tough dig for the lads. 😮‍💨😮‍💨

Things will start taking shape and coming together now, which is exciting.

It looks like we’re digging to China!! 😱🫣

We came across a rock seam under the existing patio and boulder retaining and it made sense then why the previous patio was done on such a slope! 🪨🪨
No one wanted to tackle what was hiding underground, not even the house builders! 👷🏻‍♂️😭

But Howard’s Way will find a way to give our clients their dream garden, through hard work and brute force if necessary! 💪🏼

Things will start taking shape when we get the new retaining wall started. 👍🏼👏🏼

Before & After videos of our Bircotes project. 📹

We installed a raised hot tub Indian stone patio area and raised composite deck at the top of the garden. This area was sloped before, leaving it unusable. Now there’s a lovely hot tub area and a seating area to enjoy.🛀🏽🧖🏼🧘🏼‍♀️

We also created a second patio area for the BBQ and installed paths in Indian stone to match. 🍗🍖

The garden will look much better when the grass has recovered from the recent heat and dry spell. 🥵

Groundworks Level 2 Apprenticeship college placement available for the right candidate.🧑🏼‍🎓

To apply for this position you must meet the following criteria:
🎯Aged 16-19,
🎯Be able to get to Bolton Upon Dearne for pick up every morning, (living locally to Bolton is an advantage)
🎯An excellent time keeper,
🎯Have a genuine interest in having a career in building and landscaping,
🎯Be hardworking and physically fit,
🎯Be enthusiastic and willing to learn,
🎯Previous experience helping family/friends or weekend/summer work on any type of building or landscaping projects would be an advantage.

This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday. A trial period will be completed to assess suitability for the role. Starting as soon as next week.

A new week and a new job. 👷🏻‍♂️⚠️

We have a huge project on our hand with this front and back garden transformation in Grimethorpe. 😱

First thing to tackle is this boulder wall! The pieces of rock are so big they need to be broken down so they can be lifted. 💪🏼

🤕Tom Update🤕

👍🏼Good news - the back surgery went really well.

👎🏼Bad news - Tom had a strange reaction when he came round from the anaesthetic, which has made his recovery more difficult than expected.

We were allowed home on Friday afternoon after being in that stifling hot hospital room for 3 days.🥵 Tom is doing much better at home in his own bed. We have a wound check on Friday and then it’s a long road of gradual rehab and physio for him.
