Step inside and the noise of the day just… falls away. 🛁

This is the bathroom we recently completed in Skelmanthorpe and every element was chosen to feel calm, warm and quietly luxurious.

A freestanding slipper bath takes pride of place beneath the window, paired with a striking floor-mounted brushed copper tap. That same warm copper runs throughout — the rainfall shower, the basin tap, the towel rail — tying the whole room together.

Underfoot and across the walls, two tones of natural stone-effect tile: a soft taupe brick on the feature walls, and a large-format pale limestone that keeps everything light and serene. A reeded oak vanity adds texture and warmth, topped with a crisp white countertop basin.

And the detail we love most? The recessed shower niche, gently lit from above — because it's the small touches that make a space feel truly finished.

Warm metals, natural stone, soft light. A bathroom designed to be lived in and loved. 🤎

Why freestanding baths are having a moment in 2026 🛁

Freestanding baths have been around for centuries. So why does it feel like everyone suddenly wants one?

Part of it is the shift in how people think about bathrooms. Post-pandemic, the bathroom stopped being purely functional and became somewhere people actually wanted to spend time. A freestanding bath is the clearest signal of that - it takes up space, demands attention, and exists entirely for the experience of bathing.

The other thing driving it is the materials. Cast iron and stone resin have come down in price, and the range of finishes has expanded massively. Matte black. Brushed copper. Warm stone. You're not just picking a bath shape anymore - you're picking a mood for the whole room.

What we're seeing on installs right now is that people are positioning them as a centrepiece — often under a window, or freestanding on large-format stone tiles with a floor-mounted tap. The bath earns the space it takes.
