Another recent visit where the job turned out to be a little more involved than a routine boiler service and gas safety inspection.
Perished burner seals are a common issue, but if left undetected, they can compromise the safe operation of a boiler and potentially cause damage to other internal components.
These seals should ideally be replaced before they deteriorate to this extent, which is why regular annual servicing is so important. Identifying wear and deterioration early can help prevent more serious issues and costly repairs further down the line.
Fortunately, we identified the problem before any damage was caused to other components.
While on site, we also identified and rectified several additional defects within the boiler installation, helping to bring it up to the required standards of the Gas Safety Regulations and/or Manufacturers Instructions. This included installing securing screws in the flue, sealing around the flue hole, terminating the pressure relief pipe towards the wall and removing the air-break in the condensate pipework.
Another reminder of why annual boiler servicing is about more than just ticking a box — it’s about safety, reliability and preventing avoidable problems.
