🏡 Home Safety Alert! ⚡
Keeping your home safe is a top priority, and that includes electrical safety.
Today, I want to shed some light on why having Type A RCDs (Residual Current Devices) and RCBOs (Residual Current Circuit Breakers with Overcurrent Protection) is vital, and why Type AC is no longer compliant under the BS7671 18th Edition Amendment 2.
Type A RCDs and RCBOs provide enhanced protection against a wider range of electrical faults, including pulsating direct current (DC), which can be found in most modern appliances.
This means they are more capable of detecting potential hazards, ensuring your safety.
The Amendment 2 of BS7671 recognized the importance of this upgrade to Type A devices. The outdated Type AC RCDs might not provide the same level of safety, as they are likely to miss certain types of faults, potentially putting you and your home at risk.
So, in a nutshell, if you haven't already, consider upgrading to Type A RCDs and RCBOs.
It's a small investment that can make a huge difference in protecting your home and loved ones from electrical hazards. Safety first! 🔌💡
To find out of you have Type AC RCD's installed at your property, send us a picture of your RCD on Whatsapp.
