Just β€œpop in” and it’s a walk in the park, but NO!
Rebuilt the entire engine, yet the clutch doesn’t want to talk to the gearbox anymore.

Give me a Disco any Day! 😒😒

Power cut?
No problem, flick the change over switch, and turn the dumb inverters off outside, as we’ll make too
Much otherwise πŸ‘€πŸ™ˆ and cause a spike 😬 which is probably why it’s blown the grid today, with everyone’s solar on feed in… giving the grid too much power πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

Get the kettle on!!! πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ
Definitely need those fridges and freezers on today!!!

Off grid πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Transit Ecoblue bank holiday, got to keep the wife happy!
Lovely petrol bath, to stay cool πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ€£πŸ€£

I dare say the Crankshaft, and injectors are exactly how I left them on Friday, people having holidays πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€£πŸ€£.

Took the disco engine out, split and prepped the engine for the garage, it’s in a queue!

Mother in laws sh**uns, out on the road too, that needs the injectors doing!
Actually running out of space! πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

Fixed an extension in the cool garage.

Received pictures, of the lupins I’d commented on last month, on a job, there out on full colour now 😍😍😍😍

My grandad ALWAYS had them 😊😊😊😊
Let’s see if I can get them to germinate for next year πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Sexy Maserati!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍

Had the privilege of driving this to its new owner today, and YES I did press the sport button πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

I love this car!

3.0d V6 absolute beast! πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ

Back to reality now, transit engine to sort! πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

Pistons and conrods, delivered and made up for the Jaguar XE Ingenium engine,
Cleaned a little, and thought, I’d move onto the disco engine bed,
Utter pain in the bum, especially given it’s been to a β€œspecialist” it’s an abortion of missing bolts, siezed in bolts, (blatantly never undone by the β€œspecialists”)
Best one was the invoice of Β£7200 for a chain, turbo and DPF clean!
Yet nobody checked the sump, or the bearings πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ
And for Β£7200 they don’t even take the engine out!
As per the 1/2 a job, Bobs bought it, and is doing a proper job on the floor.

Then we had a phonecall to say the works van was making noises πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ
Off I went down the coast road expecting it to be siezed!
She had loads of oil……
Yeah! It’s tapping the bottom end. πŸ₯²
Probably spun a shell. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

Parked her up and then took two car loads of deliverys out of the van and went on deliverys for DINOs.

Dragged back down the coast road by the LR and she’s in the yard, tea wasn’t ready so ripped the front end off plus plumbing πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

Kugas dead too!
Some where along the line Adblue has gotten into the diesel and has screwed all four injectors! Probably done the pump too, and never mind the tank and all the lines! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

So they’ll be a full MK1 kuga being broken soon πŸ™ˆ

Dead kuga
Dead transit
Dead discovery sport
Dead XE engine

That’ll keep us busy for a week 🀣🀣

XE engine has definitely been abused!
Poor engine, people are quick to slag these engines off. But….

Absolutely caked in black carbon oil, thick!
Bearings eaten up, heated up, black crankshaft from heat, melted bearings, stuck into the Conrod and onto the crankshaft! πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ
Why spend Β£100/200 on an oil change when you can kill a Β£5000 engine πŸ‘Œ

Couple of hours stripping and cleaning, and it’s starting to come round.

Ordered:
1x crankshaft and bearings
4x pistons
4x conrods

Timing chain will be getting done, but I must say the chain isn’t too bad, it’s stretched, but it’s looking a lot better then the bearings, possibly been changed.

Turbo, bearings and the chain need doing, doing one job is utterly pointless.

Putting Β£100 worth of bearings in whilst doing the chain, would have saved an utterly destroyed engine…

So be warned, if you ask for a chain, the cost I quote includes an examination of the bearings, if they need changing at that point, it’ll cost you an extra Β£100! That’s it!

Turbo is utterly destroyed, that’s been eating itself too. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

Managed to lift the disco up today, ready for engine removal….
Connected the battery, tried cranking it, and it’s solid πŸ™ˆ
I suspect this one’s locked up, with bearings too, as 96 miles prior it had had a turbo and timing chain!
Who’s betting the bearings are dead!

All 3 jobs or non!

Engine out, and so the job proper. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

Time for a grey one this time 🀣🀣
Back from Whitchurch.
Went in for a turbo, managed 96 miles, and died, back to the garage πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

Definitely don’t like the manual winch on this trailer πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

Nice low mileage one, ready for, you guessed it, engine work….

XE engine and the Disco engine will keep us busy for a while.

Better get cleaning! 🧽 🧼

Jaguar XE Ingenium engine this time.
Dropped off on the driveway, dismantled the auxiliary’s and it’s ready for a strip in the garage now in an hour πŸ‘Œ just before the rain β˜”οΈ 🌧️

Injectors came out nice πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
Turbo and alternator ready for reconditioning too.

Metal fillings on the sump plug, so I’m betting the bearings are goosed 🧐🧐

Absolutely baked in thick black oil, so it’s obvious the cars died due to another poor owner πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
