Some jobs are very physical. Big exteriors off ladders, high apartment stairwells.
Then there's jobs like this, that although constant moving is essential, really are mentally exhausting to complete in a day with the floor required to be done in both this superb spacious bedroom with walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom.
We had previously completed various projects for the clients at their magnificent Holywood home and they urgently required this room and bathroom completed before visitors stayed.
Coordinating people, drying times and movements when half the floor at a time is out of action is hectic. You have to keep an eye on surfaces drying. You have to constantly feel the air, is it too hot? too cold? air flow? humidity? When and where to turn heaters and central heating. When to open and shut windows. 3 coating of walls and floors, 2 coating of remaining wood. When to do filling. When to do sanding.Directing people, constantly updating on who does what. Something missed could throw it out. Its like conducting an orchestra all day 🤣
But we did it and doesn't look splendid! I say we did it but I came back the next day after allowing floor to settle and dry fully before applying 2 coats of Polyvine flat matt floor varnish to seal it.
Dull rooms to gorgeous rooms in less than 8 hours..
