✨ THE OLD RECTORY | HALL, STAIRS & LANDING ✨

Our last video showed you the before shots and a few moments from behind the scenes… now it’s time to show you the transformation. 🙌🏻

This beautiful property needed a serious amount of preparation before we could even think about the finishing coats.

Cracks, previous water damage, rotten timber, tired surfaces… you name it, it needed attention.

A huge amount of care, time and attention to detail went into getting every area properly prepared, because we believe the quality of the finish is only ever as good as the preparation underneath it.

And we think the results speak for themselves. 👌🏻

Another beautiful hall, stairs and landing completed at The Old Rectory, and most importantly, another very happy client.

We absolutely loved bringing this one back to life and we can’t wait to get stuck into the next transformation. 🙌🏻

A beautiful old Rectory, full of character… and plenty of challenges 👀

Cracks, splits, damp, stains and all the other nasties that come with a property of this age.

We’ve been working incredibly hard to completely transform this hallway, stairs and landing. From reboarding the skylight reveals and plastering the ceiling, right through to the full preparation and redecoration of the entire area.

Every crack, split and defect has been properly raked out, repaired and treated using the correct procedures. No shortcuts, just proper preparation to make sure the finish is as good as it can be.

This is just a quick look at BEFORE we got stuck into it…

The transformation on this one is something else. 👌

🪵 Bringing this oak table back to life

A little look at the process behind restoring this oak table and getting that beautiful natural finish back.

We started by sanding the table right back using our dustless sanding system, beginning with 80 grit before refining the surface with 120 grit.

Once sanded, the surface was thoroughly vacuumed, cleaned down with methylated spirits and finished with a tack cloth to remove any remaining fine dust before applying the first coat of oil.

We returned the following day once the oil had fully dried, padded the surface off, vacuumed and tack clothed it again before applying the final coat with a mini foam roller and carefully laying it off with a brush for a clean, even finish.

Proper preparation makes all the difference. 👌

🪵 Cedar Cladding Maintenance 🪵

Another section of cedar cladding brought back to life by the Prestige Paint team.

We carefully sanded the cedar right back to bare wood before applying exterior Osmo oil to restore and protect its beautiful natural finish.

Cedar needs regular maintenance to keep it looking its best. Without the correct protection, it will naturally start to weather and turn grey over time.

It’s hard work getting it back to bare timber, but the results are always worth it 👌

Regular maintenance like this helps protect the timber, preserve its natural colour and keep it looking pristine for years to come.
