A huge thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts at this year’s Business Fives tournament. ⚽

Thanks to the generosity of the Alternative Heat team and wider community, we were delighted to present a donation cheque to MYMY.

Business Fives brings together organisations from across Northern Ireland for a fantastic five-a-side tournament, raising vital funds for a range of deserving charities and causes.

MYMY is a Northern Ireland charity dedicated to supporting mental health and wellbeing through one-to-one counselling and wellbeing programmes, helping people navigate life’s everyday challenges in a safe and supportive environment.

We are proud to support the incredible work they continue to do across our communities.

𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀, 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗔𝗶𝗿 & 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 ⛳

🏌️Our Golf Society kicked off its 2026 season last Friday in Warrenpoint, where 16 players across four teams took on 18 holes of “fine golf.”

While the Society enjoys outings throughout the year, this marked the first event competing for the coveted Burgundy Jacket.

Results on the day:
🥇 1st Place – Paul Friar (the new owner of the Burgundy Jacket)
🥈 2nd Place – Conor Megarity
🥉 3rd Place – Aaron O’Hagan

A great day all round – plenty of laughs, a few impressive shots, and even more “unlucky breaks".

S𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗔𝗙 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 ✈️

We were proud to attend this year’s RAF Museum Charity Shoot at Holland & Holland, marking the 90th anniversary of RAF Bomber Command.

Together, an incredible £66,000 was raised in support of the RAF Museum Midlands Development Programme helping preserve and share the RAF’s story for future generations.

As a supporter of the event, we were pleased to help sponsor the day, reflecting our continued commitment to projects that combine heritage with innovation.

This is something we are also delivering in practice through a major low-carbon energy centre project within the museum sector, now nearing completion. By integrating advanced heat pump technologies into a live heritage environment, the project demonstrates how historic institutions can transition towards a more sustainable future without compromising their legacy.

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀, who attended the day, said: “Thanks to the whole RAF Museum team and Holland & Holland for organising a brilliant day — and thankfully the weather held!”

Huge congratulations to all of our Alternative Heat marathon and relay runners who took part in the Belfast Marathon last Sunday! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

From those taking on the full 42.2km challenge to our relay teams working together across the course, it was amazing to see the determination, commitment and team spirit on display throughout the day.

A massive well done to everyone who took part — and a big thank you to everyone who donated, supported and cheered the team on throughout the journey in support of Air Ambulance Northern Ireland. Your encouragement and generosity has truly meant a lot!

Alternative Heat will be closed on Monday 4th May as the team takes a well-deserved pause, returning to normal from Tuesday 5th May.

We'll be back refreshed, recharged, and ready to go again.

🏃‍♂️ We’re back taking on the Belfast Marathon!

This year, 40 of our team are running the relay, with 8 going the full 42.2km.

It’s not just about the finish line though — we’re running to raise money for Air Ambulance NI, helping provide life-saving care when it matters most. 🚁

Another step towards net zero 🌱

We’re proud to have played our part in the decarbonisation of Thornbury Primary Leadership Academy, supporting the wider programme delivered for Star Academies.

This project focused on upgrading existing systems to more sustainable, energy-efficient solutions — all while working in a live school environment and keeping disruption to a minimum.

Here’s what our team delivered:
🔧 Air Source Heat Pumps (LTHW & DHW)
🔧 Plantroom upgrades & new BMS panel
🔧 Buried M&E services
🔧 Radiator & AHU system improvements
🔧 ~50kWp rooftop Solar PV

This is a great example of how existing buildings can be upgraded for a more sustainable future — without the need for a complete overhaul.

We’re taking a short break over Easter, with our offices closed on Friday 3rd April and Monday 6th April.

The Easter Bunny may have made an appearance… but the evidence didn’t last very long 👀🍫
