Wee job just not far from the house - best kind of job really. Great clients and challenging build. Drystone built without strings, so just a hammer and a level and an eyeballed batter. Thank god for the tracked dumper and mini digger. Worth their weight in gold. Cheers to Gavin, Judith and becca the dog and to Holly for bringing me onboard for the build.

Been a great work year, first bridge built and second one too( still being worked on). Some fantastic, beautiful locations and great clients, timeless materials and new collaborations. Thanks to everyone who put their trust in me with their projects. And thanks for all the likes, I’m not the most prolific poster so it’s always amazing that anyone is looking. Best wishes to you all for 2023 and Merry Christmas.

Was invited by Norman Haddow a year ago to look at the damage done to an old bridge in Glen Lyon by a stray a highland cow putting its foot through it. Quickly it became clear the the only fix was to take the bridge down and rebuild. And so affer much measuring, maths, making a former supplying and erecting scaffold and coming up with with a workable solution to an ever changing problem this is how it turned out. Many thanks to for the support throughout and Joe for the dig out at the start and for the use of their premises to build the former. Also thanks to Douglas at masonsmortar and Robert Watt for the technical help. Was four months on and off in an absolute beauty spot for fantastic clients who made my stay very comfortable. Was great to explore the local area and meet Tom, the keeper of the stones, and Paul the Gold. No denying this was a tough job. Some heavy stones to move around and a continual learning curve which was a test mentally as well as physically but it’s not every day you get the chance to build a stone bridge from start to finish. Hope you like it.

Loch Katrine walls in a beauty spot. Sadly finished this one. Was challenging stone using an old D**e which dictated the style with heavy snecks and levellers. Probably my favourite style to build. I should definitely say thanks to Wilson and Chris for their Sterling efforts. I’ll get a shot of that stone you laid the next time Wilson.

Loch katrine landslide project. Really glad to get this done before the holidays. Thanks to Chris and Wilson for their hard work and to the boys from George Leslie who eventually understood what we needed. And thanks to Shiela for around 150 cups@of tea, kitkats, biscuits, cake and home made mince pies.

Rain snow mud, cold sunshine and building a wall from a landslide in a stunning location. Oh and tearing something in my wrist trying to do a two fingered pull up( and failing obviously).
