Mates’ rates… let’s talk about it 🤝💛
We love working for friends. But when someone asks us for a discount, yet happily pays a stranger full price, it does make us wonder: is our work worth less because they know us?
There’s usually no bad intention—“you’ll look after me, won’t you?” is often said with a smile. And of course we will: with care, honest advice and a job done properly. 🔧
But the parts, fuel, insurance and time still cost the same, whoever we’re working for.
A discount is a lovely gesture when we can offer one, but it shouldn’t be the expectation that comes with friendship.
And supporting a mate’s business doesn’t have to cost anything. A recommendation, share or kind review can mean just as much. 🙌
No falling out, no calling anyone out—just a small-business perspective. Thank you to everyone who backs us. 💛
