In this episode of Work Mate Tales With Bob & Trevor, we take a look at tidiness on site, and why ensuring all materials and tools are secured when not in use is so important.

As usual, Trevor has other opinions on a tidy site, unlike Bob, who knows exactly what's expected of him here at Embassy.

Team Embassy are a tight knit collective, all dedicated to working together to deliver the best to our clients, in the safest possible way.

Knowing that our team believes in the way we do things is hugely important to us, and we know that flying the flag for Embassy is something they do off site, as well as onsite.

"We just work as a team."

Jay Edwards, Scaffolding Supervisor, speaks about what other trades we work with on site at West Hendon and how all of the trades have to work as a team to keep this project going.

Here at Embassy, we recognise the importance of our work for other trades; that’s why we work closely with our clients to understand what work is being carried out to ensure we can provide safe and secure access for their projects.

Our Roofing Services at West Hendon

Here is Tom Syunnuk, Roofing Supervisor at West Hendon, speaking on what roofing services we have provided to the project so far.

- Block A, consisted of liquid, hot melt and green roof finishes
- Block C (1, 2, 3, 4), terraced areas were completed down to the hot melt, tested, and handed over for landscaping
- Housing Rows, installed a Bradclad system across all three rows, roofs are pitched to fall directly into a single-ply valley gutter.

Great work by the roofing division, keeping this project moving smoothly.

Meet Bob and Trevor. Two mates. Two very different approaches to working on site.

And the most effective health and safety resource we've ever created.

At Embassy Site Services, we've always believed that culture is everything.

Our team is a tight-knit collective, dedicated to delivering the best for our clients in the safest possible way.

Work Mates Tales is how we bring that culture to life.

Work Mates Tales is primarily a resource for Embassy Academy, our in-house training programme, but we're making it freely available to the wider industry on our website and dedicated Work Mates Tales social media channels.

After our first visit to West Hendon 3 years ago, what's changed?

“Working extremely to the tight program and trying to deliver on time... we're just working all together as one big team."

Our latest case study takes us to West Hendon, where our scaffolding and roofing divisions have been collaborating on an extensive multi-block new build project.

This enables our client, Barratt London, to safely execute complex exterior construction, window installations, and extensive brickwork.

The traditional tube and fitting scaffolding layout—featuring 3-meter high lifts and custom 3-tonne loading bays, allows various trades to seamlessly coordinate their tasks.

As these buildings demand precision and teamwork, our project manager, supervisors, and a team of 20+ operatives work on a strict timeline to deliver exceptional results safely and efficiently.

We are also taking the necessary steps to interface seamlessly with other on-site contractors through daily coordination meetings.

Our roofing team has successfully handled diverse finishes across multiple phases, implementing liquid membrane systems for terraces, hot melt waterproofing, green roof finishes, and zinc-style standing seam metal roofing roofs for the adjacent housing rows.

Both our scaffolding and roofing divisions have worked closely alongside one another, and we are so pleased with the progress and the final results.

Projects like these really showcase our ability to provide a full-service solution of both access and roofing regeneration, no matter the scale or building type.

Client Testimonial, Scaffolding Division

Last week, one of our clients gave us some fantastic feedback on our scaffolding team's work on a recent project:

"She had nothing but Praise for the team working on site, including their consideration for the residents."

"All of the residents have been concerned with regards to the project and especially the scaffolders, given the trade gets a bad name more often than not."

"I would also like to add that I am pleasantly surprised and have gained confidence in Jim and his team through their working practices and approach."

Here at Embassy, we pride ourselves on our commitment to communication, safety and professionalism for both clients and residents.

Feedback like this showcases the hard work of our scaffolders to maintain our high standards when on site.

Roofing Project Complete at Nazareth House.

Our team recently wrapped up a major roofing transformation at Nazareth House, with the project consisting of new slate roofing and new Bauder single ply on tapered insulation.

With approximately 2500m2 of flat roofing and 1700m2 of pitched roofing complete with ridge, leadwork and associated components, this was a great project for our team to be involved with.

This system delivers a long-lasting waterproof seal and creates structural falls that eliminate standing water while drastically improving thermal efficiency.

Excellent work by our Roofing Division to get this project completed to the highest of standards.
