Job complete — and two more roofs ready to face the elements. 🔨✅

The GRP roof repairs at Guildcross Union Workhouse are now finished, with both flat roofs fully repaired and protected.

This work wasn’t just about fixing the immediate problem. It was about giving the customer long-term reassurance that these parts of the property are watertight, secure and properly protected from further weather damage.

On a historic building, preventing water from getting in is one of the most important ways of protecting the structure and helping preserve it for the future.
We’re pleased to have completed another important stage of work here at the Workhouse.

Giving our customer peace of mind, one roof at a time — or in this case, two! 🏠

We’ve started the next phase of work at Guildcross Union Workhouse, carrying out repairs to two GRP flat roofs on the property.

Keeping a roof in good condition is about much more than appearance. A sound, watertight roof helps protect the building from rain and moisture, reduces the risk of further damage and helps keep the property safe and secure.

With two roof areas being addressed, this work will give the customer added reassurance that the building is better protected against the British weather.

We’ll share more as the work progresses.

🧱 Old brickwork needs the right care. 🧱

Repointing might not always be the most noticeable part of a building project, but on older properties it can make a big difference.

When mortar joints start to crack, crumble or wear away, water can find its way into the brickwork. Left untreated, this can lead to damp, deterioration and more expensive repairs further down the line.

Careful repointing removes the damaged mortar and replaces it, helping to protect the structure while keeping the original appearance of the building intact.

It’s exactly the type of work we’ve recently completed at the historic Guildcross Union Workhouse in Norfolk.

If you have an older or period property with tired or deteriorating mortar joints, it could be worth having them checked.

✨ Grade II Listed Property Floor Restoration Complete ✨

We’ve now completed the floor restoration at this beautiful Grade II listed property, carefully bringing its original floors back to life while preserving their character and history.

Downstairs, the original pamment tiles were stripped of years of old adhesive, thoroughly cleaned, lightly sanded and finished with two coats of premium floor oil, revealing their natural beauty once again.

Upstairs, we restored the original floorboards, replacing only the boards that were beyond repair before sanding and oiling the entire floor for a fresh, natural finish.

A fantastic transformation and a great example of how original flooring can be restored rather than replaced. 🏡

The roof is fully boarded and prepared, ready for the next stage of the GRP fibreglass roofing system.

Good preparation is key to a quality finish, and getting the base right means we can create a strong, seamless and long-lasting roof that’s built to handle the British weather.
