Called to a failed heating system today. Don’t make boilers like they used to, well over 50 years old, and managed to keep it working for the time being (although in need of an upgrade to a more efficient boiler) Glow Worm Sunrod. From sitting there in the cold to warm radiators and hot water.

Hi All,

Well it was a great start to the day to see so many happy faces early in the morning, and that was not just the children!

One of our jobs today was a breakdown, loss of pressure and fault codes. During the time at the job we found several issues:
Boiler noisy on operation
Pressure loss
Failure of sensor.

Boiler was noisy due to debris found in pump impeller
Expansion vessel worn, not holding pressure
Pressure sensor blocked and not reading.

We also found that there were several areas of the boiler blocked. See pictures.

It is safe to say that we at S.K.A Heating & Plumbing really do look have attention to detail.

I would just like to say 2020 has, as we all know been a difficult time. Lots of ups and downs throughout the year. That is just with the current pandemic, let alone any other issues which have arisen.

Easier for meter readings, saves space within the home, remove a wall but meters prevent it.

We have arranged to have both meters removed from inside the home to outside, enabling an internal wall to be removed.

Hello to everyone,

I hope you have been enjoying the wonderful weather we have had recently.

It has been a while since S.K.A Heating & Plumbing had made any posts.

This is a quick note to say well done for staying in, keep up the good work. It is extremely tough, but we will all get through this in the end. Staying in helps to reduce the burden on the NHS and other public services, as they are all stretched at this moment in time and are counting on us all to do our bit to saves lives.

It is also to remind you all that we are still here should you have an issues, I.E. breakdown or leaks. We have continued to suspended routine works during the lockdown.

Also just to add that we are available via phone, FB page and email should you have any questions or require some advice.

Look forward to seeing you all at the end of this.
