It's lovely and warm out there, but the heating's probably been off since spring, and the first cold snap always catches people out. Then everyone's after a plumber at the same time.

So now's the time, while the sun's still shining:
🔥 Turn your heating on and let it run for 15 to 20 minutes
🔥 Check every radiator heats up properly, top to bottom
🔥 Cold at the top? Usually trapped air
🔥 Cold at the bottom, or not warming at all? Could be a sticking valve or a blockage

Spot it now and it's sorted before you need it, not when you're stood shivering in your jumper.

Something a little different from Flow Right Plumbing… 👀

I’ve been working on a new video idea called Trade in Places — where, once a week, I swap the plumbing tools for somebody else’s job and see how I get on.

This is just a little montage/teaser of what I’ve been playing around with so far.

Plumbing is definitely the safer option. 😂

Have you noticed that a shower or mixer tap that has always worked well suddenly feels a bit different?

We have had a few people in Ashford mention things such as pulsing, less steady temperature, or poorer flow. That does not automatically mean the shower or tap has failed. There can be several causes, and the incoming cold mains supply is one of the things worth considering.

I’m starting a video project called Trade in Places.

The idea is simple: I have a go at YOUR job, and you have a go at mine. 😬

Chef, farmer, barber, mechanic, gardener, office worker — or something completely unexpected. The more different our worlds are, the better.

It’s just for a day, it’s meant to be fun, and we’ll film what happens.

RIGHT THEN, ASHFORD… 👋

Flow Right Plumbing is taking a short break this week, so I’m supposed to be switching off for a few days. 🌴

Before heading away, here’s one simple tip: make sure you know where your stopcock is — especially if the house will be empty.
