We wrapped up this major project towards the end of last year on a block of 4 flats, where the original roof hadn’t been changed in over 100 years.
The existing roof was completely stripped back, allowing us to modernise the structure while maintaining the character of the building. Key works included:
-Full removal of all existing tiles and battens
-Installation of 75mm PIR Celotex insulation, maintaining a 50mm ventilation gap
-New Redland plain tiles
-Vented dry ridge system
-dry verge for long-term performance
-24 vent tiles plus eaves ventilation to ensure proper airflow
-All new lead flashings fitted throughout
-Brand new warm 3 layer torch on felt flat roof system (150mm insulation)
-Replacement of all guttering with deep flow gutters for improved drainage capacity
This upgrade has dramatically improved the roof’s aesthetics, energy efficiency, ventilation, and lifespan, bringing a century-old roof up to modern standards.
