🚽 5 things you should NEVER put down your toilet!

💧Wet wipes – Even the ones labelled “flushable” can cause blockages and build up in your drains.
💧Nappies – They’re designed to absorb liquid and expand, which is definitely not something you want happening inside your drainage system!
💧Sanitary products – Tampons, pads and other sanitary products should always go in the bin, never down the toilet.
💧Food waste, fats & oils – Fats and oils can cool and solidify inside pipework, trapping other waste and contributing to stubborn blockages.
💧Clip-on toilet fresheners – This one might surprise you! 👀
Those little plastic fresheners that hook over the toilet bowl can come loose, get flushed away and become lodged in the toilet bend or further into the drain. We come across these more often than you might think!

Here’s our team carrying out a CCTV drain survey, using specialist camera equipment to get a clear view inside the drainage system and identify any problems that can’t be seen from above.

What a difference a good clear-out makes! 👀

We recently attended a property where the gullies around the building had become heavily filled with leaves, mud, silt and general debris, preventing water from draining away properly.

The gullies were thoroughly cleared, removing the build-up and restoring the drainage flow.

Blocked gullies can easily be forgotten about, but regular clearance can help prevent standing water, overflowing gullies and more significant drainage problems — especially after periods of heavy rain or falling leaves.

If you've noticed water sitting in your outside gullies or they're looking a little like our “before” photos, it might be time to get them cleared!

We recently attended a property with recurring drainage issues. After carrying out a CCTV drain survey, we discovered tree roots had worked their way into the pipework, causing repeated blockages.
