Nobody tells you the hardest part of an extension isn't the building. It's living through it. 🚧

The fridge in the hallway, or the microwave balanced on the ironing board…

We've done enough extensions across Kent to know that a good build isn't just about the finished room. It's about how the whole thing feels while it's happening.

That means proper dust barriers between the build and your living space. A clear programme so you know what's happening every week, trades that respect your home like it's their own and a project manager who actually answers the phone.

Buying a barn is the romantic bit. Converting it is where the reality kicks in.

Listed building consent, structural engineers who specialise in oak frames, conservation officers with opinions about window positions… It's a lot.

But here's the thing: when it's done properly, you end up with a home that no new build on earth can replicate. Double-height ceilings, original beams and light that moves through the space in ways an architect couldn't have planned.
