We had to deal with this very dead Sycamore next to the A361 in Pilton.

It had been infected with Cryptostroma (sooty bark disease), the spores from this can cause respiratory problems so masks were the order of the day!

Thankfully we had access for the tracked MEWP, was too far gone to climb!

Today’s job, reduce the upper crown of this lovely Oak by 10%, to encourage growth lower down. Long term the aim is to reduce it to a height where it poses no threat to the building. Reduced adjacent Beech to allow more light on to Oak.
