🖼 It's actually incredible the difference in a week.
☔️ I'm never ever moaning about the rain again.
🌱 This lawn was scarified in spring, so that's helped it recover so quickly.

🏜 Plants that I've personally seen in gardens I maintain this week, that are surviving the drought well.
🪻Liatris spicata, also known as the blazing star. I planted the bulbs this spring, and hasn't been watered once all summer.
🌺 Fuchsia, hot lips, are doing amazing as always in this drought. The hydrangeas in the picture are doing well, but I've seen many really struggling so it definitely isn't drought resistant.
🪴 Althaea officinalis, a Marshmallow plant, always stuns in summer with no water.
🪻 Buddleia, Butterfly bush, you literally cannot kill a Buddleia and of the course the butterfly's and bees love them.

🖼 We are obviously going to have to re-think how we are going to plant if this is going to happen every summer.

🖼 I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for keeping me so busy, even though realistically there isn't much to do in the gardens in the drought.
🍂 Strange and sad to be clearing leaves in July, it feels like the trees only recently bloomed.
🌱 I'm getting quite a few enquiries for lawncare, but again during a drought there is no point doing anything, we just need to wait for rain.
🏞 And you will be surprised how quickly the lawns recover after the rain so if your lawn is struggling don't worry at all, mother nature will fix it.

🟠 The daylilies match the colour of recent conditions!
🪻 I've taken on some more incredible gardens and I'm excited to get them looking their best for the rest of the summer leading into the colourful Autumn.

🖼This is why I love July in the garden.
🌸The hydrangeas are at their best, and the buddleia is putting on a brilliant display.
🌱 To help the lawns I've raised the height of my mower during the hot weather to reduce the stress to the grass. I also use a wildlife friendly product to keep the grass green and retain water better in the summer.

🌱 The lawn i renovated last year is still going strong despite the heat.
🖼 The trick is to mow on higher setting whilst its hot.
🪴 There's quite a few weeds down the far end but they are being treated next week.
🍃 And then some summer fertiliser in a few weeks and it will look even better.

🌸 I love this time of year when hydrangeas are about to bloom.
📸 A few pictures from this week.
🖼 I've managed to injure my back, but i can still do most things, just a bit slower for a couple of weeks.
⚘️ I've got some ramps now so I don't have to lift my new heavy mower which will help.
