Phase 1 complete at National Grid Electricity Distribution’s (NGED) Rugeley site 🏗️

We’re pleased to have completed the first phase of this major project, delivering extensive site clearance, foundation excavation and steel fixing, 706.5m³ of mass fill concrete, 3,100 tonnes of 6F5 backfill, a new access track and hardstanding areas.

The team also fabricated and erected steel structures, completed earthing works and installed 350m of palisade security fencing and 8 gates across the compounds, providing NGED with clear access to progress the associated electrical works.

A great milestone for the project — and we’ll be back for Phase 2 later this year.

Last Friday (24th July), the Whitehouse Construction team came together in the Derbyshire countryside for our annual Team Build Day in support of Derby Kids' Camp.

A huge thank you to Derby Kids Camp for welcoming us to Camp Build 2026 and allowing us to help prepare the site for another summer of unforgettable experiences for children.
During the day, 105 Whitehouse team members delivered over 840 volunteering hours, with a further 840 hours of labour contributed over three weeks to design and build the new fire pit and septic tank.

This impact was made possible by the generosity of our trusted material suppliers, plant suppliers and subcontractors, whose donations and discounts helped deliver greater value and significant cost savings for the charity.

We’re proud of what was achieved together and grateful to everyone who helped create facilities that less fortunate children and volunteers will enjoy for years to come.

National Work Experience Month 2026 is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the next generation of construction professionals.

So far this year, we've delivered over 710 hours of work experience to students from local schools, sixth forms and colleges, providing first-hand experience of careers in construction and civil engineering.

From live civil engineering sites in Derby City Centre and National Grid projects, to estimating, quantity surveying and business development, we're proud to give young people a genuine insight into the industry and the wide range of career opportunities it offers. 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

We’re proud to have been featured by BBC Derby Radio following the successful restoration of the historic Grade II listed railings and bollards on Duffield Road, Derby.

This project was all about preserving an important part of Derby’s heritage, and it’s fantastic to see the hard work, craftsmanship and attention to detail from our team recognised publicly. A brilliant achievement for everyone involved.

🎉 Congratulations to Donna and Dan! 🎉
We’re delighted to share that Donna and Dan have been successfully elected and admitted to the BeFloodReady CIWEM Property Flood Resilience Professional Specialist Register and are now Members of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).
This fantastic achievement follows the completion of approximately 70 hours of specialist training, including two days of classroom-based learning at HR Wallingford, as well as successfully passing the required coursework and interview stages.
